so, I just got my new computer and am all ready to stream, but xsplit doesn't seem to like me much. I have my elgato HD hooked up to my xbox one and it will show me a preview and record on it perfectly fine, but when I use xsplit and add it through that, the video is blank on xsplit but still showing up on the elgato program. any suggestions?

You don't want to use the Elgato program and Xsplit at the same time. They both do the same thing, except Elgato's program is garbage comparatively.

The program is not the device, so you can still access the device without the program. Once Elgatos broadcasting software is done using the device you should be able to use it without issue on Xsplit.

Suggestion - Window Capture (or whatever the eff it's called in XSplit) the "preview" footage from the Elgato program. This is what I do and, while there's a small delay that will be obvious if you use splits and a timer, it works just fine.

And unless you have a fancy personalized layout you want to use, you could also just stream directly from the console to twitch or Microsoft's competitor service (what is it called now, Beam, Mixer, idk)
