I haven't really been in any speed game community's, but this game used to be more popular than portal (over 120) in active players and immediately went down to 40. What happened? Do people really lose interest in speed games that fast? I assume that this is partly because the game is taking long to develop, but I'm not sure.

yeah it was originally just because of the hype for the game being on speedrun.com but since there's no new content nobody's interested in running the game anymore

Also, leaderboards are often cleared because of many reasons which kind of deters people from running the game if they time's are just going to end up getting removed.

Let's all grind Glitchless until we beat Amidroo to bring it back. It's torture, but we gotta do what we gotta do. Also, if you give tips to the really slow speedrunners, they'll run more.
