In-Game Time vs Real Time: A Case Study

Of note: I start the 0:50 video a frame or so before the 0:52 video. The 0:50 run did not go back to the main screen. Perhaps this has something to do with the discrepancy.

Here is a side by side comparison of a 0:50 time AnEmptyBox gets and a 0:52 time I got yesterday. If you don't wanna watch the video, basically my time is about a second faster than his, yet my in-game time is two seconds slower. I feel like this is a big problem for running ILs of this game, but I would like other people's opinion on the matter.

I will attempt to recreate a 0:52 or a 0:50 (or faster, shouldn't be too difficult) with quitting out to the main menu and then compare the times again.

Here's a 0:50 I got, compared with the previous 0:50.

My run is six seconds faster in real time.

Our runs are the same time in game time.

I'm not sure how to explain this, other than to say it seems in game time is highly inaccurate.
