Hello,

Ny name is Pauline, I'm french, I'm 22 years old !

I'm new here and I'm really happy to join the speedrunning commmunity !

I'm a french runner and i've been intersted in speedruns for a while. I've not actually started running anything yet and I dont know if I record with my computer. Any advices ?

I saw a post saying there is no specific game i'm forced to learn, just pick up one of my favourite game.

what is your favourite game? you can record on any device and devices where you cant record, just use a phone camera to get footage

Yep, starting with a game that is already a favorite is usually a good choice. If it's not a game you can record on your PC, then an external camera works fine as long as we can kinda see the game.

For folks starting out, doing shorter speedruns is often also a good idea. Get some general skill at speedrunning and work your way up to longer runs if you want, as going for multiple hours can be quite daunting. But, hey, if you think you're up for it from the get-go, nothing's stopping you. As you get more experienced and do more runs, you'll eventually figure out a speedrun length you like to stick to.

Definitely be sure to take care of your hands and don't overwork them. Speedrunning is a bit more intensive on the hands than other activities, and you can end up doing some damage if you don't give them a break every once in a while.
