Rule changing

So after 4 months of this game existing now the rules for 100% have been changed. now you have to have full heart count on every level which makes it kind of an S rank category. This is now also set for the single level runs, which wasnt till yesterday. where has this been discussed or who decided it to be this way as of now? since my runs have been confirmed under old rules I still would like to know since I have to practice 100% for collecting full heart count on every level for a new run. in my eyes adding an S-Rank category would have made more sense since full heart count doesn't unlock anything special content which would define as 100%. greetings :)

This was something I'd been discussing while discussing the addition of the all levels category, nothing was decided on this though but I must have changed that bit without thinking while doing all this, removed now.

There's never been much discussion on 100% which I think it may be a good idea for all active runners to come together to do, since really it should be included to go to having a 'full' completion of all levels but at the same time and matches it to other games in the series such as Yoshi's Island it isn't really a collectible as such so I can see that argument. Maybe at some point we should all come together to decide this, and then whether another category should be made or whatever. Changed it for now though

100% typically means full completion. Yoshi's woolly world draws a very clear line for what is cleared and what is not, with yoshi doing a dance and a stamp being added to a level when you complete it, and a star being added on the level select screen. When you collect everything collectible in a level, a star is added to your SAVE FILE, giving a pretty clear hint at what completion stands for. In the original Yoshi's Island, full health was required as well for 100%, although for different reasons. Overall it makes no sense to not get health for 100% as you are literally not collecting and completing all that the game counts for completion.

Don't worry, it is sorted now. We were unaware of the full conditions when the category was made as it was near the release and was not a category many considered running either. After discussions it was changed so that the 100% referred to here was renamed to All Collectibles and 100% as it is correctly defined is a new category as 100%

I'm happy the way it is now, thanks :)

Can we have a discussion on the other criteria for 100%? Having to defeat all enemies and listen to all songs sort of ruins momentum in my opinion, and you could very easily say it's not needed for completion as they don't count towards giving you a star on your save file. As far as I know, you get a star on your save file when you 100% every level, so in my opinion, to allow for maximum momentum and creativity, you could have 100% just need to get that star on your save file.

England

Well the enemy criteria is necessary for 100% as hitting each enemy with an egg adds it to the scrapbook theatre and if you pause the game in the main hub you can see the counter for the scrapbook theatre. Same is to be said for the music (see: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CSW8xLKWwAAT7oU.jpg:orig ) and as can be seen do add a star to your save file. Therefore this is a part of 100%. You don't have to listen to the songs, just by being in a level where the song plays (if you play every level you should get this) or hit every enemy with an egg (again, same) you should be able to get these

I meant the star on file select, not the pause menu stuffs. What is the criteria for getting a star on your filename?

England

I think that star comes from just finishing the game

Oh ok lol. Well whatever ye, I'm fine with the rules it just seems really awkward to have to go to the enemy gallery and see what enemies I missed, but I guess that's a worst case scenario type thing so it's fine.

you get the star for completing every level, all flowers, yoshis, stamps and scrapbook I think. getting the star for all hearts doesnt add anything, another star would have been nice but yeah thanks nintendo :P
