I think it could be cool to see what place you are on in your own country, so maybe you could add a sort by country option. Thanks :)
There used to be a way to sort by country, most runs submitted, and most games played, but the page is currently down.

https://www.speedrun.com/users[/quote] I think @Yoopicul is talking about a per-leaderboard basis, not global
The best you can do for a per-leaderboard basis is sort by region, but that only works with specific countries on specific games
This idea has been pitched before and I think one of the challenges with implementing it is that it won’t be accurate at all because people can choose whatever country they want. So it would really only be as accurate as users are honest, which kind of creates a feature that won’t be as useful or believable as it should be for a ranking system like that.
If users want to be dishonest about their country that's on them... I think another problem would be users who don't list their country for various reasons like if they live in multiple countries, like me. Another problem is that a user may honestly put their country of origin but not their country of residence, or vice versa, and there's no real standard. Edit: thought of one more, sometimes there isn't an agreement on country borders, to put it very mildly. A lot of these are edge cases, but they are honest ones.
Still, if someone wants to know "hey how close am I to a national record?" they can already figure that out the long way, but a site feature could make it easier. The info is there, why not make it more accessible info?
@Yoopicul don't forget to post your idea, if you haven't already, and any future suggestions in the site feedback thread here: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/g79jt
@Timmiluvs I hear it's nice down there this time of year!
Oh I’m not arguing about making it accessible, I just remember that being a concern mentioned before (before the idea disappeared into the abyss of that Feedback Thread)...
And it’s lovely, I can almost go outside without 12 layers of clothes on.
I tried to do it with the F12 Menu and jQuery. It should have achieved the goal for that :)
I wrote a chrome extension for this today in a couple hours, if anyone was interested: https://github.com/mitchell-merry/src-flag-filter . It is very barebones / prototype-y but I made it for personal use.
