In my set up right now, I'm only using one monitor for both playing the console game and the pc I'm recording through (because of space limitations). It is doable to play through the recording, since my capture card have very little latency. But I would love to hear the sound from the game I'm recording. Is that possible in OBS?
(Correct me if I'm wrong somebody but,) I don't think that's possible through OBS alone. Maybe some other software.
I would highly recommend that you start the recording and switch the monitor to get input directly from the console though. Every little bit of latency matters when you're forming muscle memories. If you ever got into a situation where you wanted to show off some strats, but you didn't have your capture card, you'd be screwed!
in OBS, right click the device, then click properties, scroll down to "Audio Output Mode" and change it from "recording only" to "Output desktop audio" you should be able to hear your device now.
Thanks to you both! I actually got it working, but after playing a while I understand what you mean, Eggwink. I'll probably play with console input, and just pray the recording and splits don't get messed up.
