I have no idea what game I want to learn; the only run I've done that I've published to this site is for The Painscreek Killing, but I also do pokemon runs for fun, no point in being #55 on a leaderboard just for ego sake of saying "I'm on the board"; and I do semi-casual speedruns of other games, but I can't really decide what game I want to master.

I'm looking for a small-ish community with maybe 5-10 active runners to compete with in a game similar to Firewatch or The Painscreek Killing, if anyone knows of any games like that, I'm interested in getting involved and learning the run. I've been working on firewatch, but the community seems pretty slow/inactive.

Any suggestions would be awesome.

You don't have to get top times to have fun speedrunning, but I understand not wanting to submit runs you aren't proud of. My biggest advice is to just find games you like to play casually, and try to speedrun them. If it's fun, continue learning or reach out to other runners. Another thing you could do is go to runner's profiles and see what games they run, and learn any that look interesting to you (but then there's no gurantee that you'll like those games).
