New Category/Rule Change Suggestions (Important)

So Flee The Facility speedrunning was setup around 3 years ago. Since then there has been multiple changes to the game and me and @CorruptCow feel there is a need for change in some categories/rules. Please feel free to comment on this whether or not you are a moderator as this is not just our decision to make, we do not own the board. If you have any other rule/category change suggestions, please state them here also.

  1. More than one player slot for multiplayer runs: In the Survivor% Multiplayer Category, only the person who submits the run to the board gets their name on it, the other participants get little to no credit for it, which is very unfair to them when they were part of that run and deserve to be recognized for it, especially if it's on the podium. The same rules apply for only one person having to record and submit to speedrun, but if anyone else wants to submit their perspective that is completely fine. However, if only one person is recording, they should have to record the other participants escaping (in game or spectating) to ensure they do not glitch through the exit.

  2. More Survivor & Beast% Categories There is currently no rules for the amount of players that have to be in the game for Beast and Survivor% runs, and beating any of the current records is based almost completely on RNG instead of skill. So, we could just add a category for 1p, 2p, 3p and 4p for both Survivor and Beast% to add more variety and making it so everybody starts off on the same boat in each category, thus making it more skill based rather than RNG based.

  3. Categories for each map To enforce everyone starting off on the same boat and making the FTF board more organized, we could add a category for each map.

The current categories are very vague and I think we really need to add more variety for speedrunners, it makes it more fair and overall more enjoyable. These are all my suggestions, please feel free to suggest anything you feel should be changed/added.

Ok I got a lot of things about this. It's gonna be crazy reading it.

  1. Although besides the part of getting the other players credit, since Piggy kinda did the same thing, it would be impossible to see anyone cheat in this game. (I've only encountered it once, but that was a while back and I never caught it again) you can tell if they are hacking as according to a video I found, which will be at the bottom of this Forum, shows 2 easy ways (Besides the hacker telling the people): They can either gain they're speed or teleport to a different computer (Possibly one you would be currently hacking)

  2. Has lots to talk about, I have to split them up into 3 sections.

2.1: I've looked through some of the submissions, for the game, finding that it wouldn't make sense for Beast%, like I said before. For Example: "Azic21" caught like, I'd say 2 people in almost a minute, while as for "GlassGaroyle" got 2 seconds better with 3 people. So wouldn't matter either way, as it's mostly depending on luck.

2.2: (I'm even finding people in my Former WR on Beast%, of the comments section, some have gotten around like Sub 2 minutes area, the biggest one though I've looked at is "This Account will Reach Final" saying he got 4 people in 47 seconds. Although no evidence is true, this still can be somewhat of a way that Skills is more important to get a WR or beating your own PB)

2.3: The same thing would go to the Solo% Runs as comparing the runs of Corrupt's and, FWR, Sprite's Runs, which is basically who did this Forum what a coincidence XD... Ahem Anyways, both had 4 Computers to find as Corrupt made it at 3:51, Sprite bested him at 2:26. And finding more of this, "Azic21" has beaten Corrupt, even with just 2 players (Him included) while Corrupt had 3 (Same did Sprite). So I don't know if there would be a change about that since it's all depending on luck, with the research I looked at there.

  1. I mean, similar to number one, but I think something similar to that can be ALL Levels (Which can be difficult to do since "EVERYONE" chooses Facility and Homestead a lot. LOL XD)

And, as I said before, here is the video according to how you would tell that the players are cheating, since there are at least 2 easy ways I can see in this video I've found. (Realizing the title before putting this up, I think I saw "Kill All" on there, so maybe that would be number 3? Makes sense to me)

Hello I also have thoughts and believe they should be added to this thread as it is a discussion.

  1. I 100% agree with multiple people getting credit for multiplayer speed runs. If me and my friends get a very good run and submit it, only one of us is going to be credited on the actual page - which would be very disheartening if it was our best time overall. The best case scenario for this would be all participants escaping through the same door so you can see it as it is happening.

  2. For the most part, I think the number of survivors needs to be taken into account during Beast% speed runs. Regardless of whether GasGargoyle caught three people 2 seconds faster than Azic21 caught two people, both of their accomplishments should be rewarded fairly. It is a lot harder to capture more survivors as a lone beast, therefore different number of survivor categories should be introduced so the times are shown accurately in terms of how many they managed to capture. It also goes without saying that the top Beast% time was very clearly not legit - The beast had to capture 1 person as someone left as the game started, and you can see their other account loading up to spectate the only survivor - meaning the beast knew exactly where they were at all times. Understandably this isn't disallowed, however capturing 1 person will always be easier than capturing 2, 3 or 4 people, let alone always being able to know where the survivor is.

  3. The map category doesn't really bother me much so I don't have much to say on this but I guess it would be cool to be able to get a high position on all 5 available maps.

Agreed, makes it more fair and less RNG based, which is the whole point, it doesn't matter if some people got faster times with more people. Although there is no rule against the use of alt accounts to lessen players, spectating to find their location is technically cheating, but there's no way to prove if zironic was doing that or not, so the mods can discuss that issue another time if need be, but I'm not gonna be the person to take it down, due to the fact it looks bad on my part since I'd just get my WR back. Back to the topic of this forum, when this board was set up it should have been added in the rules you had to have 4 survivors vs you for beast% and for survivor% you should have 3 other survivors + yourself against the beast from the start. But now we have a bunch of verified runs on the board with less than 4 players against the beast on both sides, so it's unfair to everybody who grinded if we just delete them. So instead of deleting them we sort them into different categories according to how many players are in the game. This also adds much more variety for categories to speedrun. We currently only have 6 categories in total.

When do you guys think these changes could potentially be made? Curious for future runs.

Not sure, mods will have to discuss it. Only three people have commented on it so far so.

First of all I just wanna say I <3 y'all and because I do, I'm gonna let the fact that two of you misspelled my name slide. (I'm not actually mad I'm just glad no one called me GrassGoyle)

Anywho, 1. I'm all for having more player slots for submissions. It would feel nice to have a good run, then submit it; all to see everyone's name on that entry. Of course, alterations would probably have to occur to ensure fairness. I don't really see major issues arising other than if the group you were with got split up by the beast and had to go to separate exits. All in all, I think it is a very good idea.

  1. If not in multiplayer, I really think different player amount categories should be implemented for the beast. I understand skill is a large determinant for the outcome of the round, but when you have 4 people to chase vs someone else having 1, it kind of becomes a matter of luck and spawn location. I think it should be more set up to showcase skill, and more categories would definitely help to do so.

  2. I'm sort of indifferent to different map categories. While I personally believe each map has it's own difficulty, it's not a very important factor. It would be cool though if you could attain multiple runs on multiple maps, but as stated already, not a huge deal.

Most people seem to want these changes, so should we now go ahead and alter the rules?

Yeah I think it should be added, It's really just a mess right now with Players having to get a public server with one other person using alt accounts to leave before the round it is just to complicated.

Should we go ahead with it now? It's clear a good few people want these changes. Or do we wait for a few more mods?

Yeah I think we should unless we could contact the owner of the group

First we need to establish how we actually add these categories to the game.

Considering the new map today, is this ever going to be implemented? If you guys need assistance, I'd be more than willing to lend a hand in setting up the new categories to have it done in a day or something.

It has now been a month since this was suggested and no other mods have replied, so yes I think it is time to go forward with these changes.

And yes it would be appreciated if you could help out with setting up the categories. We will also have to go through runs again to correctly resort them. Edit: You can talk to me about it on discord.

If Slenderman Powerman complains/notices about this, don't have me and Otterstone get dragged into this as none of us were involved in this. XD
