Any% Skip - Losing Lighting - PS4

Hi all, apologies if this is already covered (and please point me in the right direction if it is), but I'm pretty new to running Outlast, and when doing the skip, when I fall below the game world, the lighting is super finnicky. I can't seem to find a way around it, but every time I line up to run towards the jump into the last level, it goes pitch black in the direction I'm headed. Usually with enough careful meandering, I can get it back and see where I'm going, but careful meandering does not a good speedrunning time make.

Any tips or known ways to avoid this? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer (and thanks retroactively for the tutorials)!

Be more to the right, its not the lighting, its the area unloading because your next to the basement, thats why when we fall to the ground we tap D as we run forward to get more to the right so the level loads back in.

Or in your case since your playing on PS4 i take it your doing the PS4 route for the skip? Well in that case as you land just look towards where you meant to go and move to the right till the levels loads back in, when you understand around where you need to be for the level to load in then it shouldnt be to hard.

Thanks all for the quick responses! That should shave off a good 30 seconds to a minute for me.

That did the trick, thanks! And yeah, it's the PS4 skip. There's another I've made work on PS4 (jumping into the corner of the wall instead of walking forward), but just walking forward is so much more consistent for me.

To do the walking of the ledge thing you need to stop sprinting right as you approach the edge of the ledge, then you wont die if you didnt know that already.

Thanks, Mattmatt! I did, but I appreciate the reminder! I watched the very informative video on here for a full any% run. Ironically enough, didn't know that skip existed until I did; I had always tried the other, and was watching the video for a refresher. Was pleasantly surprised to find and easier skip and very detailed instructions on the best paths to take afterword. Had no idea you could jump out of the chamber for the Wernicke cutscene either.

And thanks, Enigmaa, same to you!
