Hey hey,

New to the site, and new to the entire genre of speedrunning. The Youtube algorithms started showing me Summoning Salt after I bought a Switch to pass the quarantine time. Other than that system, I've only ever played PS2 (Favorites are Jak/KH1/THPS3).

Even though I'm not sure I'll take a crack at speedrunning myself just yet, I still found myself getting really into the concept from these youtube videos. I really want to give them kudos: Laying out an oral history of both the record breaking times and the evolution of methods has had me invested in the speedruns of games I'd never even heard of. The first vid I watch was the recent one for Wii Golf records, but then I watched Rainbow Road history, and by the time I found the Mario N64 120 Star video & the Choco Mountain, I was hooked! The latter was what ended up leading me here to check on some of the records of games I do hold close to my heart.

So like I said, don't know how active of a participant I'll be just yet, but wanted to commit to joining the site officially and introducing myself if I was going to be looking around here now. Look forward to learning about some crazy records, and wish all of those who are in the middle of a grind to make a new record the best of luck!!
