I have done a lot, and I mean a LOT of runs in the past. But either or these things kept happening

  1. Video file is corrupted
  2. I lost the video
  3. I didn't record it. What are the chances of all those runs being submitted without a video?

My stance is to never submit runs w/o proof, and on games I moderate I'll reject any runs that are submitted without proof.

  1. is just poor luck, if it keeps happening check what's causing it because once in a thousand runs is okay, once ever 2 runs something's up.

  2. is your fault? don't see why that would be a problem

  3. is also your fault? always record your runs.

Proof requirements vary wildly across the site so you'll have to check for whatever game(s) you're planning to submit runs to. In general it's always best to have full video proof (and most games strictly require it). As for those problems described, try to figure out why your videos get corrupted (I've been speedrunning for over 2 years and have never had that happen), don't lose the videos, remember to actually record the runs.

Thanks for the responses, yeah loosing this video is my fault and not recording is a decision I guess. I'll try my best in the future it's just that my setup is inconvenient right now.

The good news is that since you've done a lot, and you mean a LOT of runs in the past, then hopefully you'll be able to reproduce your success on new runs.

I dunno if you use Twitch, but.... One thing to note is that the Twitch default settings do not save past broadcasts. That's something you'll want to make sure you have checked.
