What would be a good speedgame for someone who sucks at games?

I originally followed the "Run the games you enjoy" but the game I picked for my first speedrun (Undertale) ended up being too difficult for me to continue (though, the speedrunning community did try their best to help me out).

Now I'm at a point where any game I'd like to run sort of meets the point of " I'd like to run that, but either the skips are brutal, or general movement is probably a bit much for me, or -most often- I couldn't even beat this casually, so there's no way I'd be able to run it."

So, I wanted to ask if there was anything I could run in the meantime while I figure out something else I might be able to do.

why would I hate you for recommending me a game? And I'll look at it, thanks!

Im Biased but my first speedgame was Oddworld New n Tasty. I dont think the any% category is that hard, and if u want u can try routing the easier difficulties. No ones done those yet.

Who hasn't played this Red Remover in their elementary school computer class? I used to play this game (amongst others like Red Beard and Red Ball) and Mr. Chavez would get absolutely FURIOUS with me and would sometimes send me outside the computer lab where I wasn't back in the rest of the period. A lot of the times I really let his yelling get to me personally, but that's just how 8 year olds function.

Haha, but that's besides the point. In all seriousness, Red Remover ( speedrun.com/r ) is an outrageous speedrun using crazy strats like clicking on the squares as fast as possible, navigating through the tedious menu without your mouse freezing up ( I should really consider getting a new mouse since mine has been acting up like hell, but what can you do when your nearest electronics store is a 45 minute drive without traffic), as well as making sure you time your runs properly.

It's a great speedgame for beginners because there is no RNG, and it's a very quick speedrun (6 minutes if you're good like me; but can be about 6 mins and 54 sec if you're not that good with your hands or using your brain for optimal hand-eye coordination), and it brings back lots of nostalgia like Mr> Chavez kicking me out of the computer lab.

Overall, I would recommend Red Remover (and Red Beard) to anyone

Connect 4 and Glover are super easy speedgames. I have a Glover tutorial, and you can get the idea of how to speedrun Connect 4 just by watching a run.

Some platform based fighting games are easy to run. (Examples: Digimon Rumble Arena, One Piece Grand Battle, Brawlhalla, the Smash Bros. series...) You can get decent times as soon as you figured out how to beat all opponents without dying. However the games are still quite competitive because you need very good execution and RNG if you want to get WR. Also these kind of games are below 30 minutes at most, so giving it a try doesn't really hurt.

I guess racing games are also a good recommendation, because the main goal of these games is already to go fast. So it's only a matter of practice in these games.

Would I need to learn all the fighitng moves and combos and stuff for smash bros? The only melee guide is for very hard, which I can't really do.

http://www.speedrun.com/Swords_and_Sandals_1_Gladiator Check this game out, you might have played it on flash game websites. Its pretty straight forward and there is a guide with a very easy to follow route. ~30 minutes to speedrun.

I made a category for just this purpose!! https://www.speedrun.com/Clue_1998#Computer You only have to start the game and hope for good RNG. OpieOP

By far the easiest speedgame I have ever picked up was 102 Dalmatians Puppies to the Rescue. There is only one very hard trick but that is only if you are going to play the PS1 version. The PC version is super easy and you can probably learn the entire route in one day.

It may seem I'm recommending this game a lot to several disparate prompts, but Escape Plan! Very little RNG, no frame-perfect tricks or anything (at least right now!). All you have to do is learn the correct route through the rooms and do it fast!
