Hi my name is Carlos .. I’m very interested in speedrunning. Have any tips on how to begin. Illusion of Gaia is the game I want to speed run. Just love the game and can’t stop playing it.
Check out the forum section for your preferred game to see if there's a Discord server, join up and get involved. Ask questions, watch runs, learn how it all works. Much easier to get started in speedrunning when you have the proper support from others.

Begin and don't stop.
Do not reset your first attempts when making small mistakes (Maybe even big mistakes).

What everyone said above sums it all up, but my most important tip to reiterate is to not reset your runs too much in the beginning. Also, (I'm not sure how this game works, so this may not apply) don't go for WR tricks right away or anything. sometimes making your own route is sufficient, but maybe watch some lower-level runs so you aren't holding yourself to 1st place standards.
Just a few tips from my experience:
- When you run, try not to stop for any reason. If you have to stop, find out why and how to avoid it
- Find glitch (if the game have it)
- Always learning from the other
- Don't take speedrun too serious. It doesn't good for your performence
- If you don't have fun, you shouldn't run that game.
Not every run will be a PB. Don’t let that stop you from running. What helps me as a new runner is to think, “There’s always next run.” Have a good friend sit with you and spectate. You’ll have alot more fun with friends. Hopefully he/she/they will cheer you on. If no one is available, try streaming. Invite some people you know or might be interested and hang out there.
