I am new to speedruning, and need a little help getting set up. First off, how would I time myself on console, and is using the PS4s built in streaming function a viable way to record myself?
ive never really streamed on console so i couldn't tell ya, but long as we can see the game play its allowed. so even using your phone is ok. :) i can assure you many will respond to help you soon though we're like that lol good luck!
If you're streaming directly from console, I'm not sure of a way to have a timer on screen. After you cut the stream, you can always highlight and time the video before submission.
If you're streaming from console to OBS (or the like) and OBS to Twitch, look into Livesplit or similar timers.

Someone in another thread mentioned there's a setting on the PS4 broadcaster to enable chat display, and a further option to have a timer display there. I'm not sure what settings those are though as I don't speedrun on the PS4. Good luck.
