Hey, I'm looking for open-world games which can be speedrunned.

For example, for now, I've realized some runs on Minecraft and theHunter.

Can you recommend me some games? Even if the games are not present on SRC, I am ready to create their own page. I just need ideas. Thanks for your help! :)

If MetroidVania esque open-worlds are ok, this is a really good game https://www.speedrun.com/fe

@Pear Yes, I think that BOTW could be a great idea! Honestly, I like to speedrun open-world games where the rng is part of the run.

@Lieutenant_Boo I'm not really a fan of MetroidVania games but this game seems cool tho :)

It's the game I ran at AGDQ, so yes I'm biased :D but it's a deliriously fast-paced open-world game (seriously, Fetch makes the Flash look like a damn snail), minimal complicated tech, very learnable, just dyin for more runners :D

Y'know, there's always that famous car-stealing sandbox game if you're on the masoquist side of things.

It's a bit RNG-heavy from what I can tell, but a cool game nonetheless.

@EmeraldAly How hilarious, I was playing this game when it was free with the Playstation Plus years ago! :) I'll try to get it again, and make a run!

@MrMonsh yes, I don't know how but when I looking for a new game to run, I don't think to the big ones.

Thank you for your suggestions tho! :)

I also forgot to mention A Hat in Time and Super Mario Odyssey, which while they're segmented in worlds and levels, each level is open and lets you explore the map to your heart's content.

Wouldnt necessarily call them open world, especially a hat in time. Some parts are open world, but especially in hat, some worlds are completly linear.

I agree that A Hat in Time has its fair share of levels that are linear in progression style, but you also have sections like Alpine Skyline that let you choose which objective to go for next (or just explore if you'd like), which is why I thought I'd suggest it.
