New discovery maybe?????

Hey, since I'm fairly unfamiliar with the community I don't really know if this has been discovered yet, but when I was doing an Any% run (this was probably gonna be a 15:2x or smth but Bowser did not agree), I went up to pitch and this happened:

Usually, what happens here is that you pause to skip the animation Mario does before he pitches, but what happened in the video is that the pause menu seemingly didn't show up, yet the animation was skipped. I have no idea how I even did this, and more importantly, I have no idea if this saves time. I think it might be able to if fully optimized, but it purely comes down to if it can be replicated. If anyone has any possible explanation for what happened, could they possibly say not only what happened, but how it happened as well? Thanks.

also sorry about not muting the video now you all can hear me complain haha!

I've done this before maybe like 2-3 times, but I usually pause to skip the animation real quick and with the no pause way, it could save maybe 1-2 secs over the pause way

Interesting. Do you know how you did this or was it an accident each time?

I really didn't notice that much but it was an accident each time from what I know, idk how i do that. It might be RNG

So I figured out how I did it. Basically, I was swinging my Wiimote aimlessly, and I guess the game registered my swing before my + button press to skip the animation. I replicated it earlier today, and I compared it to a decently fast pause skip (faster than both pause skips performed in the WR (maybe)):

As shown in the video, it seemingly does save time, but it's almost negligible. Additionally, you cannot perform this before going up to bat (as far as I know), making the time save extremely limited, as this is only done twice. Whatever, a time save is a time save.

TL;DR swing your Wiimote aimlessly to save maybe half a second

nice

From my best guess now is that your WiiMote swing is prioritized more than you start button press so i think you can do a buffered pitch while in the cutscene and i think it could be consistent.
