Hi! I was just wondering if running Games on things like Everdrive cartridges would be allowed. I'm assuming this would be a game by game basis thing. Like if i were interested in a game, and was planning on running on an Everdrive cart, i should just ask a mod of that game. Also, would they be considered running the game on an emulator? You are using the rom and not an official cart, but you are on real hardware.

Each game is different. Ask that game's forum if something is allowed.

I haven’t met a community that doesn’t allow flash carts and if they did disallow them then they would be bad mods since those carts are proven to be quite accurate (mostly due to it using the actual system and not an emulated system).

All the communities I’ve seen treat it as real hardware. So using a flash cart to play an NES game for example would be submitted as a real NES not an emulator since you’re using the real hardware.

Also, I’m talking specifically about Everdrives and sd2snes - those carts are accurate. I can’t speak on another type of flash cart (I’ve never even heard of a Harmony Cart) so if you’re using something weird like that, that’s something you’ll have to run by the mods to see if they allow it or what it is classified as.
