Issues with a PAL GameCube + Dazzle DVC-100

Using my Dazzle, I got both my Xbox and PS2 working fine with s-video cables. I'm using Amarectv for video output.

The Game Cube is different, I also used s-video as a test and only got audio from the console, no video whatsoever. I tested some other video settings and only got fuzzy green video at the bottom of the screen.

Is my video cable faulty, or is it something to do with PAL GCs having problems with Dazzle?

Before anyone asks, yes the console does work using SCART to my TV.

Well if the console works with SCART, my bet is on the s-video cable being bad. The only really reliable s-video is the one straight from Nintendo (although it’s like $70 if you’re lucky) and a lot of off brand ones tend to have various issues. There are some off brand ones that aren’t bad, but it can be a crapshoot

S-video is disabled on the PAL GameCube, according to this: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gamecube/915781-gamecube/faqs/34663

Huh, I never knew that. That’s pretty interesting.

As stated above, PAL GCN can't output S-Video.

I guess i have no choice but to use composite video? I would love to use SCART output but I've never seen a capture card that supports it.

If you want to use the RGB video signal your options are either an OSSC or a Framemeister+Scart-to-RGB adapter cable. I'm not exactly sure about the Framemeister, but the OSSC then outputs DVI or HDMI which then can be captured with a respective capture card.

Edit: Scart to S-Video adapters do exist, but chances are that those pins aren't used in the PAL GC either. Someone else might know more about this.

I don't have the funds for that. Looks like I'm sticking to composite, welp. I dont get why Nintendo disabled S-video, makes no sense. Guess there isnt a whole lot i can do.
