Is 100% a thing that's going to happen? Cause if so, I'd like to hop onto that train and give it a go.

As there's no percentage counter in the game, I'm not quite sure what 100% would be, and I know 100% for RPGs can be quite ambiguous since some people might want the large approach of max stats. I'm going to guess All Asterisks (I know a route has been partly made for that in the SDA forum thread), True Ending (or both endings), and defeating the Adventurer. Completing D's Journal and rebuilding Norende might be possible choices too.

I personally think All Asterisks would be a fun Category. And defeating Adventurer. Personally I would run those in both games. Doing D's Journal and Norende seems a little much. In my opinion anyway.

Oh yeah I completely forgot about the fact that i was routing All Asterisks... oops I'll get back onto that when I get time to. Uni's getting pretty busy at the moment :/

Manitoba, Canada

Yeah, perhaps that would be the wiser way to go. And i also agree about rebuilding Norende. Don't think there would be much of logical way to route that.

So if i may, what have we got so far for all asterisks?

Victoria, Australia

IIRC (haven't looked at my notes in ages), I've routed up to the beginning of chapter 3 for AA. The only difficult fights so far are Khamer/Khint and DeRosa. The extra exp from the bosses really decreases the amount of grinding needed. At least, early game it does. I feel we may need to do more grinding later on to beat the late game asterisk holders/other bosses. I should probably mention I was doing this routing based on the Black Mage strat which may not be the most optimal way to do it.

So would you deem it wise to not go Black Mage as ur main? or would something like Monk/Black Knight work better?

Manitoba, Canada

like, I'd imagine you end up maxing out at least one of the jobs, so why not use it to deal out like a bajillion damage in like mid to late game?

Victoria, Australia

Yeah you're probably right. That's what I was thinking too actually. Black Mage probably isn't the most optimal way to do AA. But it's been a long time since I started running BD and i never finished it so I'm gonna focus on getting an Any% run I'm happy with, then I'll move on to AA routing/running

I've been routing the AA route for a little while now and it's sooooo long. to shorten up the battles a bit, and by a bit I mean a lot, should we run it on NG+?

New York, USA

How long, exactly? I feel like NG+ would make it too short for what it's supposed to be... of course, starting the game on level 99 just makes everything super easy.

Manitoba, Canada

so far, including the grinding out so that you can actually defeat the bosses, im at around 5-6 hours. I'm only asking because I'd rather not sit through running the game for that long. Plus if we did do it NG+ it would still round up at about 3.5 hours (of course, I'm only estimating here), so it still seems like a pretty long run.

Trust me, I have been looking around for help in a 100% speedrun of Bravely Default, but I could not find one for the life of me. My idea of 100% kinda goes off what SailorNemesis of GameFAQs (Quirinus from YouTube), which fully completing the Journal (including all the alternate events on Event Viewer and Party Chat), Norende completed, all Asterisks got and maxed, the Adventurer defeated, and the final ending achieved. Granted, the last time I did this, it took me a whopping 74 hours, but I seek to shave off that time.

But if I would have to think more realistically, I would say completing the Journal (getting all the ???s gone) excluding the Event Viewer, all Asterisks (probably all maxed), all Tutorial Quests, True Ending, and possibly beating the Adventurer would count as 100%.

As my plan for 100%ing this game, I have been going off Romi's Black Mage run, but around the end of Chapter 3, I went off to get the jobs I didn't get (Thief, Merchant, Time Mage, Spell Fencer, Valkyrie, Ranger, Red Mage) in lieu of the 'grinding' portions. However, if I were to go up against the boss rushes of the later chapters, I would maybe suggest doing some chapter 5 Florem grinding to train Time Mages (three for Meteor, one for Hasten World), Swordmaster (for Free Lunch), one for Spiritmaster (for Stillness), and Thief (for the Speed buffs).

If you guys have any ideas on how to improve that, let me know.
