I am getting started with bedrock speedrunning. I've done some Java speedrunning before. Just wondering if There are things that are the same.

There are a bunch of things that are the same. You could use your past experience to speedrun Bedrock. I suggest practicing a bit and try and see how Bedrock speedrunning works.

Everything is pretty much the same. The two biggest differences are one cycling the dragon and finding the stronghold. Like Asdapth mentioned you should definitely learn how to one cycle the dragon; there are some guides on the forums about it. Another thing is that in bedrock, strongholds try to spawn underneath villages. So if you're trying to triangulate the stronghold and come across a village, there's a good chance that the stronghold is under the village. If it is, then it will spawn underneath the bell in the center of the village.
