Hey there, I'd like to help moderate this game. I noticed theres a few issues. While some runners use real time they should using the end game time that is given to you in seconds at the credits. Just a simple minute conversion does the trick as well as rules etc. This leaderboard could use some cleanup work as well. I've noticed one of this SNES times doesnt have a working video anymore. Im a series mod for Jurassic Park and mod for many other games and since this will be on my next AGDQ submission it'll be good to have a nice cleaned up leaderboard :)

Well that didn't age well lol. The boards are going through a change. I was contacted by another runner yesterday and apparently the driving stages are not included in the overall IGT. Any run from here on out will use real time. Timer starts right after you press start in the main menu. Timer ends right when the Terminator turns into that weird electric ball looking thing. They also helped retime all the runs. I'll go ahead and update them today.

Hey man, I'm not sure why anyone would assume the driving isn't included. My end game time and video times aren't radically off or different. There's a couple minutes difference but I'd have to chalk that up to loading times, not knowing EXACTLY how the in game timers start and finish, if they round decimals of seconds down, etc. I'm not really sure why we're not using the in game timer, especially for a console runner like me, that's a lot seemingly unnecessary work just to check my time at the end of a run, ya know? I'm pretty sure that would mean I'd have to time it after the fact of course, which means I'm sitting there for like 20 mins after each run just to determine my time (yikes). As of now I don't even know what to do because I have a run to submit but I really don't want to have to re-watch every single run I finish in real time just to time it, again for a reason that I'm just not seeing at all man. Just trying to contribute here. I love this game, I'm certainly not trying to be difficult. Like I COMPLETELY agree with your initial statement, personally. I really hope we're going back to in game timer man, like, PLEASE haha

Yeah the driving stages are included I found out. Problem is.. Nobody really knows how the IGT really works exactly, especially with emulator vs hardware speed. With older games it's a bit tricky. Real time gives the exact start and end time, Making it easier overall and better to understand and to work with. Originally before I became mod, this game ran off real time and not IGT as well. Do you not use a timer? livesplit?

I typically use livesplit for PC games not retro console games. All good, have fun guys, I'll just play somethin else.

lol You don't have to be that way and I'm glad you understand the points I'm making. Just use a real timer next to you. You don't have to submit with livesplit or a visible timer on screen. Regardless of what you decide to do. I wish you the best.

My setup won't allow for it. I'd have to jump off my couch to my computer smack the keyboard and hope I jumped back to the couch in time to control the game. Then i have to stop the timer in the same fashion. And if I mess it up I'll have to retime the entire thing in real time. It's just not worth it to me. I mean I'm sure youd agree, that's totally impractical, not fun and a royal pain ya know?

I'm trying to understand this the best I can lol. Okay so can't you just play the game right? Use a timer.. let's say on your phone right next to you or even one of those cheap ones? There's always a way and I know quite a few runners that use this strategy without any issues. Like I said the Timer doesn't need to be on screen or anything.
