IMO All snags is the closest category we're going to get that's a completionist run, and we already have a run of it done by BeekLK, where upon 0 snags is the closest to a "bare minimum" kind of playthrough. I believe I was told there's no reason to add a category unless a run has been done, so at the least All snags should be up here, a few other runners have also tried doing runs but have yet to complete.
As for meganium/quilava, i doubt those would get categories since it's no different than someone running yellow and calling it pikachu%
just my thoughts
So uh, just to ask but which game would we submit to? There's 2 digimon world: next order games on this site and each have the same run, which one is correct for PS4 users (since PS4 is vastly different compared to psvita version)
I mean if the collision isn't there that's absolutely borderline so to be safe I'd say no to throwing barrels through walls tbh.
In addition what do you guys think of saving / quitting and death abuse? Should we allow this as well? Asking because lots of game communities restrict these in glitchless categories.
Glitchless at this point and time would be a valid category to add, I remember back in 2013 we discussed it only a tiny bit and the game had too little glitches in it already to make the category somewhat different. We could discuss rules for glitchless in a new thread if you want to make it keanubuze
Max inventory count (such as having maxed out bomb count, mushroom count, etc.) absolutely is irrelevant. I think this covers everything, but just to ask, would anyone have a problem calling this category "100%" even though this game has a counter that doesn't indicate item completion rate? I mean as long as the rules specify what is 100% i don't think there's an issue.
My whole mindset is that if it was unique it should be counted so I'd agree with whatever you think should be included, but makes the rules as clear as possible once you think it over (as in definition of what is required + other requirements (like depositing stones etc. if necessary)
I don't have the information to weigh in so we're at the mercy of people who ran it but yeah...inconsistency.
"Over my dead body"
Reminder this is a hobby and people need to chill
¤Notices spongebob being discussed¤
lol
I mean most games use deaths to save time, but dying to collect items is very interesting indeed. How many are there?
I think the difference was dealing with cheat tokens, weather depositing was required
I think this memes bullshit needs to go to google docs instead
I'm fine with whatever is decided, though just to make sure, "100%" is technically glitchless, so some kind of word variation to determine some kind of "complete the game" would suffice. I'd say let's get a complete definition, rules, and whatever else required up and running so we can retire this thread.
Huh so it's there but only makes something easier / minimal things faster. That's not that bad at least, didn't know there were confirmed sources, thx
Yeah all versions are equal from my understanding, I think there's an extremely minor difference between 1.0 and 1.1 that doesn't matter at this point and time, and all 3 regions are equal (English voice actors, text is like instant)
I don't think the prospect of speedrunning on 3ds VC has really gotten around to the communities yet, since it's a much more painstaking procedure to setup for run capturing and it being a hand held console and such.
By all means use it to speedrun, you would be opening the doors to others who want to speedrun on 3ds VC but don't have the support or courage to try it first!

not sure if up to date but these are the best publicly available notes
It's up to you how you do it, it'd be better to have splits on the stream if possible but running a stopwatch app would be fine, just submit that with picture since I dunno if it'd be very visible on stream. Good luck with runs!
