As in what are the rules, there are none at all, and no runs to give me an idea.
The moderator has'int reply'd yet, but I now own this game on 3DS.
Yeah, I've always been interested with iSpy based games, and DVD player games. The one you ran that's on this site give my Myst vibes from the parts that is'int in the object finding part of the game.
Huh, that is interesting.
I'm asking because unlike DVD players, on Windows you can just click the area, and it will select instead of having to manually go through and select the option. It would be a great speed advantage, and was thinking of doing this game through something like VLC Player which has support for DVD menus, so does Windows Media Player.
I'd imagine most DVD players released from a brand name like Sanyo would have good infrared as long as you point it at the player depending on the one you got. You could also use a console that can play DVD games, like the OG Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, ect.
A much needed addition added! Now if only Shell Shocked has a IL board too...
When playing the stage in freeplay I've accidentally come across a dupe glitch. Once you're at the 2nd snowman at the place you have to light the explosive to blow up the wall. I used a rocket launcher to blow up the wall, accidentally grabbed the torch, then built the snowman. I apparently lit the explosive when I moved as another explosive went off and the snowman was not built again, but the platform thing you also build was still there. I built the snowman again, and even though it still said 2/3 it gave me the treasure as the dupe confused the game. I then built the platform, and the one I originally built got replaced with this new one which made me realize what happened.
Don't know if this could be useful in a 100% run, but can be if that run is routed differently. I think to activate the glitch you blow the wall with a rocket launcher, then quickly grab a torch to lite the dynamite, then build the snowman. It will explode, then build it again.
I'd split the categories too.
I;m asking seeing as theres any% (no cheats), then just any% which accepts cheats. I would have done any% and cheat%, but idk, maybe you unlock cheats through the game, like Goldeneye.
Other than graphical. Did'int even know this was on Gamecube, or PC at all.
I doubt that this will actually become a category, but am wondering about that. I did a medeocore run with LiveSplits which I usually don't use as there tends to be a delay with the key press only on starting and ending the time. Did this on new engine btw.
I'd call it a Casual%, or a Glitchless/No Boost%.
For those insane enough to try a 100% run, this guide will be useful. Though not made by me, I found it online, and it's useful for routing a 100% run. This is specifically for the GBA version only.

I would only use cheat codes in a run that's a cheat% run, where cheats are allowed. The leaderboards for this game does'int have a cheat% section, so maybe make a cheat% run, then see if the mods would add a cheat% category.
Like what Craigelbagel001 said, you can get it on Steam, you can also get it through GOG if that game is still on there site, or through the physical disc release of the PC version. The disc version needs the disc in the PC to play the game, Steam and GOG obviously does'int do that and I recommend those two instead if you can.
I see that the level leaderboard only has stages for the typical console ports, and not the DS version, and was wondering if the leaderboard could be updated with the category for the DS stages since there unique to the others.
Ok, so once I make one, where should I post it on the leaderboard? Should I just sent a video link to the mods once I get the run made and uploaded?
Even though the original version of The Invasion episode is mainly just an older version of The Invasion 2, and made before those more advanced features were added in SMBX, it'd still be cool to see as a category in the full game leaderboard.
