Woohoo, they did it! Thanks @Otterstone_Gamer for finally changing this.
Good luck getting your run verified. This mod isn't very active and doesn't respond to messages.
Also, you can submit a time of 1 second and it should be accepted because there are no defined rules.
I'm not sure what an iso image backup is. Basically, you can have both discs "in" or whatever, but you just have to close Disc 1 before opening Disc 2, which the game does for you automatically anyway.
Are you interested in running this game?
That's a good question. Thank for asking.
This game actually has two discs, simply known as Disc 1 and Disc 2. Disc 1 contains the Paprika and Mailbox stories. Disc 2 has Magenta's story, and the Land of Great Discovery.
The idea behind this rule is to prevent someone from gaining a time advantage by running both Discs at the same time. In other words, a player with one disc drive has an equal chance of getting a good time as someone with two drives.
Even though you can just mount the two discs to make it easy to open both, I just think it would be more fair to all if you have to close the first Disc before opening the second. The game auto closes Disc 1 and opens Disc 2 anyway if you use the prompts.
Based on these rules, 2nd place should be re-timed to about 12m 20s.
For 3rd place, the video cuts off before the cursor appears in the Land of Great Discovery. However, we can re-time the video from that point to what it would be had the final cutscene played all the way through without being skipped. This would make it an approximate time of 17m 55s.
Please tell me what you think of these rules! :]
Since there are no rules defined, these are what I suggest.
- Timing starts when your cursor disappears after clicking Paprika on Disc 1
- Timing stops when your cursor appears after reaching the Land of Great Discovery
- Changing any of the difficulty settings by pressing "S" on the Pathway selection screen is not allowed
- Pressing ESC to skip cutscenes is allowed
- You can only have one Disc running at a time. You must close Disc 1 before opening Disc 2.
On the Request Game page, it says "High-Score based submissions" are not allowed.
Why do games like Flappy Bird https://www.speedrun.com/flappybird and "Disney Crossy Road" https://www.speedrun.com/dcr have leaderboards on this site? Their rules even use the word "score," and say to submit your score as a time. How did these games get approved?
Pretty sure this is speedrun.com. Delete this game from the the website. Post your scores somewhere else.
Please tell me what rule I broke.
I would like to moderate the leaderboard for AdVenture Capitalist. https://www.speedrun.com/adcap
The current moderators were last online 4 months ago and 9 months ago.
Only one of them has social media listed. I tried sending them a friend request on Discord, but their Discord name listed on their profile is incorrect.
I sent them a whisper on Twitch. I got no response.
This leaderboard is not very active. The last submitted run was 6 months ago, so it may not be necessary to add a moderator right now. We could instead wait until someone submits a run. However, if you add me now, you won't have someone else making one of these posts for the same game.
This category has absolutely no competitive value. Because of the manip, you just have to hit a one-second window.
A 90-year old grandmother can hit a one-second window. This category is meaningless.
An idea to change it is to make it mandatory to show the current date somewhere in the recording. This date must be at least the same month as the current month.
At least don't make this category the first category people see when viewing the leaderboard.
No memory card, I think.
It has been over 2 months, and nobody has said anything. Can we delete these empty categories?
The rewritten rules you did make more sense now. Thanks bud. :]
They're all empty, and nobody will ever complete them because they are unrealistic.
The only way to realistically complete any of those categories is to buy gold with real money which would be dumb.
Also, add to the rules for Oil Company banning Mega Tickets. These would allow the category to completed in less than two seconds.
Is using a timer required when submitting a run? Does this rule differ by game?
If you accidentally reset the timer during a run, is the run invalid?
