Don’t tell me that I refuse to read anything, it’s not only wrong, it just plain stupid. I also wonder where you got that I don’t support using IGT. I said that it probably needs more testing to confirm if it’s accurate or not (which it absolutely does since some people are still finding inconsistencies). If it is, I don’t care if it’s used. I also said to split categories based on consoles and to use filters so people don’t have to spend tons of money to do runs. It’s almost like you didn’t read my post at all.
I don’t do random twitter searches for any info on this kinda stuff, I look here. So anything not posted here is irrelevant since this is the main place to discuss this stuff. Ask Pac probably, admins are the ones that ban. But considering you already asked this like a month ago and he didn’t seem too eager to unban you, I don’t think his opinion has changed at all.
KH IGT is notoriously bad and not accurate at all. While that would require more testing for this game, I’d be willing to bet it’s just as bad here too meaning it won’t be able to be used for anything.
As for any separation, I say split by console but not by hard drive type. Hard drive type can be done using the filters, console splits make more sense and there’s no need to make even more mess by throwing in HDD type. 0.2 works fine with HDD through the filters (and filters are notoriously under used anyway).

This site has made it very clear that when someone asks for that kinda stuff, you simply say “you can’t disciss that here, go to google” and you stop posting anything else about it. You don’t post names of sites where they can download that stuff, that’s still just as bad as sharing direct links.
If the gameplay is different between the two then a split makes sense.
As a side note, I believe this site has PS4 Pro as a separate platform for this reason, so this game can be edited to show playable on PS4 and PS4 Pro. Not a big deal, just a QOL thing that can be added to the board.
Well it depends. If your game is a PC game, look into if there is an auto splitter for the game to control that kinda stuff. If it’s a console game, you have to manually pause it and unpause it when you need.
I’ve only seen that when the console is powered off (no video signal = blue screen). Are you picking up the audio from the console or is that not working either?

Seriously, most of the people who might have opinions on this haven’t even played the game yet. Making this thread now is jumping the gun immensely. It seems so silly to go with the two week embargo and then start talking about this kinda stuff before a giant chunk of the community plays the game.
When I used to use splits I had a keyboard with all the keys ripped off except the space bar and I put it on the floor so I could split with my foot. Worked like a charm.
Uhhh RadioShack maybe? I think the powered splitter I bought online was RadioShack brand. Other than that it’s a crap shoot, but you definitely want to check out some kinda electronics store for that (or just go online).
Every time this comes up, the same things are always said and the points are always made. At the end of the day, this checkmark accomplishes nothing. What if you find a faster time on another website, who verifies that is actually WR? Nobody is ever going to know if a 1st place run here is really world record because who knows what exists out there in terms of runs done decades ago when all people had to go on was some stuff shared between friends. You could argue this for literally any WR site. How do we know that any WR in Guinness is really a WR? This rabbit hole goes on forever.
The term WR is meaningless, it always has been an always will be. This site is designed to be the central hub for all of this stuff. If someone wants to bury their time on a random different website, then let them. That person clearly doesn’t care about being a WR so who really cares. Besides, most of the other sites you listed like Cyberscore are mostly for high scores which aren’t really tracked here. Or most other sites like the one for Halo are known to be the main spot instead of here, so everyone knows to go look there.
I can’t imagine this is a widespread issue with this site, I bet a lot of the games are accurate with all times. Or, the community is aware of faster times on other sites and nobody within the community refers to WR incorrectly. This topic is always a lot of noise over an issue that’s not really rampant at all. This suggestion isn’t bad, it’s just unnecessary.
I would recommend joining the discord server, you’ll find people who can answer any questions you have about whatever run you end up doing (the forums aren’t very active)

I mean the forums aren’t best suited for that kinda discussion anyway, a discord would be much better to organize things and talk about that kinda stuff.
That being said, I don’t think the site explicitly limits those kind of topics, but the game mods/community may not be thrilled about it cluttering the forums with offtopic threads.

Yeah I agree that visually the traditional way is better, that’s why I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea in practice. As for BBS, I know diddly squat about that game so that’ll be up to someone like gamebrain
