AntarcticaFor the login thing, make sure you're using https:// instead of http://. There is a bug with the site that prevents logins frequently when not using https:// If you want a direct link, use this: https://www.speedrun.com/

As for rules, there are no global rules for speedrunning really (other than don't cheat I guess, but that's obvious). Instead, you can find the rules on the Leaderboards for each game you want to run. Each game will have their own rules for you to follow. On the page for Lisa: The Painful RPG, you can see the "Rules" button right here

That mod for Akiba's Trip (sam356) just tweeted less than 24 hours ago. Shoot him a tweet and either he can add you himself or he can take care of whatever issues/questions/pending runs you may have.

Nope, that is horrible practice to do, especially since he's proved in the past that he can post runs. Again, there is no "legal" or "illegal" for something like this, it's like kirkq and ihavenoname said - "legal" but bad practice.
That time should definitely be taken down until a video can be provided (and looking at his YT he has a video so it shouldn't be hard for him to edit the submission to have it).
Personal messages will be coming eventually, we just dont know when.
And the commenting on runs thing has been brought up many times by various people and a lot of people think that it will create more of a problem then it's worth. Reactions like a simple "like" seems pointless since it just adds clutter and no value, and comments would create a moderation nightmare. I can envision many scenarios where people will go around to random runs on the site and spam them with memes, copy pasta, inappropriate messages, etc (or the spam bots would have a field day). This would create a problem for all of the game moderators to try and constantly clean up/keep an eye on.
Forums and Discords provide the best way to ask questions about a run, and I would say that if a runner has no social media links on their profile, then they probably don't want much interaction with people so I don't see them responding to questions asked in a comment on their run (if they even enable it).
Japanese text is super duper speedy, saving minutes over English in 100%.
PAL runs slower in general so that is avoided like the plague.
Games usually take 2-3 weeks to get approved/added, kirkq is the only one that can add them and he tries to get dive into the queue of them once a week. A lot of games get submitted so it can take some time (especially if kirkq is busy IRL and can't log on here frequently).
You can also put an image link in the "video link" field if you want to and it will embed the same as if it was in the comments.
Downside to this is it shows up as having a video which can be annoying for someone else looking over the run who thinks they're going to get a video but end up with just an image.
I guess that's not ironic to me since that's the point of competition.
Does anyone else find it weird that athletes train for dozens of hours a week in order to compete in the Olympics for the gold medal?
(I know comparing speedrunning to an Olympic athlete is an "LOL" comparison, but the spirit of competition is the same).
This is the nature of competitive hobbies - you train and practice and invest time all to achieve your end goal. I don't find anything weird about doing something I love while striving towards an end goal and competing with others, especially since that's how any competitive hobby goes. It always strikes me weird that people flag speedrunning as a waste of time or strange in that regard, but don't bat an eye at competitive sports. Yes, there is a difference between playing a video game and doing a sport, but both are done in the spirit of competition and with the intention of achieving an end goal.
I see nothing weird or ironic about that.
Yeah that jump was always inconsistent and difficult to get, it's not worth going for.
