If we split glitched into Major/Minor, we have to add an entire subcategories. If we replace glitched/glitchless by Major Glitch / No Major Glitch, all we have to do is change subcategories name Kappa ez pz

Now that people saw the thread and voted (cause an entire week is enough), i m happy to talk about it with you and all runners ;)

The change gonna be done tomorrow ^^ if something look wrong after, don t hesitate to feedback ( rules etc )

Most runners POV is that pause cancel is used for doing serum skip etc. Even if it's true, those major skip are forbidden, the minor stuff is when pause cancel is used during reloading, hit, heal kinda stuff.

Now my POV : Pause cancel is not used for serum skip (for exemple). I don't see the commun point between press start when you trigger a cutscene and press start for skip Jill's animation except the fact that we go into the inventory ...

The simple fact that people are debating about what's a glitch or not ect prove that we cannot use anymore glitched/glitchless name. As Clix said, we cannot simply say it's black or white.

About doing a 3rd sub category, i m totally against that :

1. There's already too much categories
2. The difference between "Minor glitch" and "Glitchless" gonna be ridiculous ( 5-20 secs max )
3. People here all know what we are talking about, it's not confusing at all. For future runners, all they have to do is watch a major glitch list forbidden for "No Major Glitch" where's is the difficulty ?
4. Glitches debates, split will not solve the question of "what's a glitch or not"
5. Friendly competition. Having 1515145 categories is not constructive. It's more free WR stuff to be honest. There s already enough categories for that.

Any% is not a bad idea but ... BestEnding% Any% sounds stupid no ? :D I don t think it's possible to rename it any% in our case.

Btw, i suggest to change the subcategory name in 3 days, are you ok with that ?

Leaderboard changed a lot recently, we did our best to respect all RE runners ideas. But, some people, asked about glitched/glitchless rules stuff here and there. We have discuss that between mods and we want to suggest a new way to think :

Replace Glitched / Glitchless by Major Glitches / No Major Glitches

Indeed, in the past we were forced to ban some runs for stupid reasons. It was unfair and it was not fun for us to do it. So here is a list of what we classed as Major glitches or Minor. We wrote a lot of stuff to be clear, some of them are obvious :

- Barry Glitch (Jill)
	  Making freeze Barry in dining room
- Chemical skip (Jill)
	  Skip the chemical by Jill hitboxes glitch
- Serum Skip (Jill)
	  Menu when Richard cutscene is triggered and move during it 
- Plant42 Glitch (Jill)
	  Kill Plant42 twice to skip the Barry rescue cutscene
- Rope Skip (Jill)
	  Take the ladder at the same time than rope cutscene to skip it 
- Radio Skip (Chris)
	  Menu when radio cutscene is triggered and move during it 

- Quickshot
	  Using R1 to shot faster 
- Statue Camera Glitch 
	  Glitch the camera with menuing during the blue gems statue is falling (useless)
- Umbrella Logo Skip 
	  Skip the computer umbrella logo, not even a glitch
- Tyrant Stuck 
	  Use the key hitbox to stuck the tyrant during the first fight 
- StepLadder Hitbox for 1st crank 
	  Little hitbox "glitch" when you want to grab the first crank

So give us your POV about that first list. Then there's 2 stuff that we need to vote as minor/major glitches. Here is our first POV :

- Pause cancel
	Open inventory during a shot / knife hit / reloading. We are not talking 
	about using menuing to do major glitches listed above but only the fact 
	to skip small animation. As it was the main reason why we banned runs 
	(even if runners done this accidentaly) and as it's only used 
	for small times save. We suggest add it to the Minor list.

- Rebecca Skip (Chris)
	"You do not need to save rebecca from the hunter by the serum room
	 All that is required to save rebecca is to enter the serum corridor 
	 from the first floor and leave, this saves time on killing the hunter 
	 and the cut scene which follows"
	 Here all people are not agree. Myself i think it s more a skip than a 
	 glitch and should not be on major/minor list. But some think it's a Major 
	 glitch as it save a lot of time. 	

There it is, i will personnaly ask something, respect others and do only one post if possible to vote or POV explanations.

To be honest, this thread is not the root issue but is the result of mistakes :

1. Not having clear rules of which version is currently accepted on PC (avoid not yet voted version on leaderboard)

2. Doing a vote. Chinese version must be removed right now of the leaderboard ( NOT banned but NOT accepted). Vote YES/NO as soon that a version is discovered is not a good idea. Investigate, discuss about that but don't vote too hurry.

3. Sharing respect. Each time a new stuff is coming some people don t hesitate to rush forum to keep or do a new WR stupid stuff. If someone find something new and submit the idea, please stop thinking about being the best but think about new possibilities.

4. STOP thinking that ONLY active runners can vote something. Stay open mind for oldest runners who want to come back or future new runners ;) Simply stay fair and legit

That's all, i will not give my personal POV about the version and/or SRT cause, it s clearly a thread to chose a "side" and i have already one : Resident Evil Runners :D

Ok i ve installed the game and now i can run it only if i run BIOSOFT.BAT ... Impossible to runit with BIOHARD.BAT

During installation, there's Graphical option ( i tried some but not all ) and after you have choice of installation document ( BGM etc ). So what's your choice with all that stuff ?

I have an issue with PC version. I mounted an ISO, downloaded patch, bio.exe from zip is w95 compatibilty ... i execute the .bat AND ....... Nothing :(

It try to run bio.exe and i got a windows with japanese stuff ( i can only close it )

Bio1 must be installed or only Iso mounted ?

I had issue with RE2 and psxjin indeed ( tried emu for practice/test ), you should try https://code.google.com/p/pcsxrr/ like trance recommended to you ;) It s a tolerated emulator by tasvideo.org

1. 99% of community is able to play with the sourcenext version + console are here only to respect guys who don t want to play on PC even if the competition is obviously on PC. I think everyone will agree this, it s a fact.

2. About PAL/NTSC, It s clearly not a disrespect issue there. It s about 50hz/60hz. For example Twispy on dreamcast run PAL version BUT with 60hz activated.

3. Since i m on RE community, i see people running all versions possible of a game ... why don t you pick the fastest/more competitive version when you re able to run it ? You know i m also an european guy and i had the same issue with RE1, i runned it on psxjin cause i m not capable to buy a japanese ps2 and i was pretty angry about this at the very beginning. Today i see that it was really the way to go and community grow up. There s way to much categories in RE series and we have to come back to basis. Stop split the community please.

4. The real issue at my eyes, we have to reduce number of WR holder. I mean today people just want WR and everybody have one lol. This is non sense. We must stop that. A huge part of community forgot that we are here for fun and play together. World Record is a cool thing of course but really ... for me someone running the game with a slower time is as important than a WR holder.

5. Don t forget, some stuff are banned from leaderboard but nobody prevent you to play the game ;)

That s why i think 50hz version must stay banned in RE2 case, it s only my opinion. I don t want drama. Still listen everyone.
