Wonderful job on the new update. Looks crisp and clean! Keep it up!
A few bonus things:
- splits.io gold splits are not highlighted gold any more.
- Wondering why this link was removed from "More": https://www.speedrun.com/changelog
- So, so excited to see what y'all do with graphs :)
Your runs are great, Dracaarys! Not sure why'd you want to delete them.
Hey y'all! This game is no longer available on the app store on iOS or Google Play. Meaning, everyone who is running this game has had it downloaded and hasn't deleted it. Save this game if you value it! I'm not sure if any emulators are available at this point.
Timing issue with "Free Fall" mode: Timing is currently based on decrement of your first snowball to snowball count hitting zero. This is for the sake of standardizing timing all the different sorts of modes. The issue with this is that a player who ends the game with more than zero snowballs left will have +4 seconds added due to Free Fall, whereas a player ending their run with their last snowball will stop timing before the ball bounces around and Free Fall begins. If the game gets more popular (which it probably won't, as it is currently undownloadable), we may have to figure out a different method for timing. But for now, we'll keep it as is! Remember to record from the beginning of the level to the results screen just to be safe, as timing rules could change.
These days I record using Streamlabs OBS and time with LiveSplit.

What do you use? Your suggestions will help new runners!
Welcome to runner @seedyz! Thanks to your submissions, we hit 20 people fed!
Recently @Spikegamz completed levels 1-20, so I've decided to add ILs for up to level 100. More will be added if needed!
Welcome to the mesiba we call speedrun.com ;) Since your game is on mobile, better to share it directly with the mobile speedrunning discord! We have 350+ mobile speedrunners to play your game -- just pop in and I'll give you the developer role. https://discord.gg/bpY8zeB
I have some feedback for you on the game as well, so just message me :D
Cheers!
@Tagerplayer this is due to a known site error that causes runs to go invisible if they don't match up with cats/sub-cats. It sounds like all you need to do is add those sub-categories back in (exactly as they were named before). The runs will match up and become visible again.
For future -- If you want to make changes to a category/subcategory in this manner, you'll need to have links for each current run open. For instance, all Story Decks runs should be open as tabs. Once you update the leaderboard, you can reverify each run by editing it and selecting "verify. " The runs will appear under the new/revised category. Let me know if you got questions :)
Hey @Kromer, great idea. I mentioned a similar idea in April 2018 here: https://www.speedrun.com/post/2szjw ShikenNuggets mentioned it in Oct 2018 as well: https://www.speedrun.com/post/aun99
On Freerice FaceBook page: May 9 at 8:03 AM · The old Freerice site is going to shut down later this summer but we've now built a new home for the Freerice family at http://beta.freerice.com/ and our Android app in the Google Play store (with an iOS one coming soon)

Thank you all for helping us achieve #zerohunger
So friends, it looks like the old site is shutting down, so the speedrun.com leaderboard might need to be archived. Once it officially shuts down, I think I'll request we create a new leaderboard for Free Rice 3.0. I've kept a well-documented spreadsheet of all runs with grain totals, and I'll definitely keep that up as we move into the new website and app. As of today, we've fed 19 people as a group and I'm grateful for your help!
By the way, the new app is funky fresh and looking good. I recommend you download it. If you need any help with finding resources for recording on mobile, hit me up in the mobile speedrunning discord! https://discord.gg/bpY8zeB
Or hit me up in the Free Rice Discord, link in the sidebar! Let's keep up the runs for rice!
Please pause the Twitch feed on the homepage
New rule change, no timer is required. We will now retime with https://github.com/Slush0Puppy/retime :D
Well done @quaristice on the new WRs! I added a "reach 300" category in case you want to aim for that next hehe :D
Hey BattleMaster! Any audio is better than none. External audio is the main way mobile speedrunners record audio proof because internal isnt really available. Audio is required because it can help prevent splicing and other methods of cheating.
I like that you have a lot of suggestions, though it would be much easier to chat if you joined the mobile speedrunning discord :)
I'm on Samsung S7 and use Game Screen Recorder to record my runs. I sometimes stream my runs using the YouTube Gaming app, which means no internal storage is needed. No timer is necessary for this leaderboard since we use https://github.com/Slush0Puppy/retime to retime runs accurately to the frame.
If you are interested in finding more resources for recording or timing on mobile devices, visit the Mobile Speedrunning Discord: https://discord.gg/bpY8zeB
There you will also find a great community of 350+ runners, competitions, and a ton of new games to play!
It would be really really cool if we could see an interactive list of all verified runs on a leaderboard, similar to how all runs show up on a users profile. I have about 313 runs in the Free Rice page that I'm considering retiming, but it is not easy to find all of them (many are obsoleted). This would also be helpful just in terms of statistics. On this page, it would be easy to see how many runs each user has done, easy to find and compare world records, and easy to grab data to work with in Excel.
Looks like the new IGT feature is exactly what we need! For pre-IGT runs (the 10 existing runs on the leaderboard), we will use Slush's Retimer. For all new runs, we could use the new IGT feature. I might do some comparisons between IGT and the Retimer to test accuracy first.
Note that, while IGT is great, this leaderboard still requires video submissions. If you need help recording or streaming a run, let me know :)
@BattleMaster did you join the mobile spedrunning discord yet? https://discord.gg/bpY8zeB It would be a lot easier to talk there :D
I see the new IGT feature... it wasn't there before, so that's really cool. I'm going to test it out a bit and get back to you.
Hey! All current runs have been retimed using https://github.com/Slush0Puppy/retime
I was head beta tester of this tool. It is the most accurate retiming method I've seen on speedrun.com. We would love if you used it while retiming runs!
If you have any timing disputes, please let me know! All retiming info is located in the comments of each run.
Edit: @BattleMaster brought up that Leap Day now has an in-game timer. All runs using an updated version of the game will be based on IGT. The earlier runs on the leaderboard without IGT will use Slush's Retimer.
Edit (August 2019): All RTA runs using an old version of the game have been retimed using the new start time rules. Instead of starting time on level select, we start time on the first hop frame. This matches when IGT starts.
