ArgentinaI'm not sure why they restricted the username length, but I'm almost certain that they restricted the special characters in names because they don't always work with forum mentions or when you put them as the runner/verified of a run (for example the username "Kai." doesn't tag to the correct user and instead tags to @Kai).
Given that they were in the process of restricting special characters, I guess they just thought they should restrict the username length while they were at it to be more in line with other sites.
This restriction was put in place very recently and only affects new users or current users that are trying to change their name, but as all changes in rules, they don't apply retroactively, meaning any users that already have usernames under 5 characters get to keep them.

+1 for DaVinci Resolve. As far as free alternatives go, it's by far the one I found to be most complete in features.

I agree that it's really confusing to know whether requests are still alive or not, which is exactly why I sent a suggestion to add a way to track requests through the Support Hub itself.
In the meantime, you could try getting in touch with one of the Content mods/Full mods themselves through DMs to see if they can shed some light on the situation.
It's a by-product of the new Support Hub: your request is probably still being processed, but you just can't track it for the time being.
ELO will most likely add back the ability to see your pending requests through the site sooner or later, but in the meantime we'll have to sit tight and wait for an email or somethin'.

...but on second thought, I guess I'd go with pushing the idea for forum mods as well. :)
