Wouldnt necessarily call them open world, especially a hat in time. Some parts are open world, but especially in hat, some worlds are completly linear.
Necro implies the negatives that you described. Posting to a still relevant thread is something else, but just adding your opinion for example to a discussion that took place 3 years ago and came to a conclusion, that is annoying.
Posting in an old thread is not necessarily necroing. Posting something to an old thread that adds nothing of value is necroing. Also as I already mentioned, a lot of common features are missing here such as a search function for threads and so on. Which is why I am often quite suprised on how some people find those really really old threads.
It is common courtesy to not necro threads. Simple as that.
To be honest, the forums need to get reworked. Also a last point, it would be great if we could know that the ELO team at least acknowledges the feedback that is written on the forums (or as matter of fact, anywhere), as it honestly feels and seems like they do not really care.
@ckellyedits its not about saying that its forbidden. But some users are necroing a thread that is not really relevant or answer questions that were answered 2 or 3 years ago. It is mostly about making people aware that this thread is very old and if they are sure that they want to post something. Necroing is just something that people should avoid. And a lot do not even realize that they are about to necro a thread from a few months/years ago.
Does it have to be a laptop?
It would be nice if you could mute specific threads. That way you are not seeing a "new and unread" tag on threads you dont care about (as an example the requesting marathons thread or the bots deletion thread)
Ask someone to help with the translation. I don't think its SRDC job to translate ressources into different languages. Leaderboards are still community driven.
Thanks for that suggestion. Streets of Rage is not a type of game I enjoy at all and I also do not see where the movement is in that type of game. Unless I am mistaken, it is still mainly clearing waves of enemies while progressing through the level and that is not exactly what I am looking for.
I feel like the news tab could have been summarized into one single box on top maybe, with the ability to adjust the size of it. Interestingly, on mobile the news section is at the bottom of the frontpage instead.
This is a mess. Really. Also, on mobile the "latest tweets" part is so big on smaller screens, that you can just barely scroll back up as it covers the entire screen.
So I am constantly looking for new and fun speedgames but I thought
"Hey why don't you let people tell you why you should run game x?"
So please, throw me some suggestions and tell me why you think that speedgame is going to be great for me. You can ask me anything about game preference and so on, I will add the questions and answers to this post. Ive never done anything like that and I am curious to see what comes out of this. Oh, one thing tho, I do not have an unlimited amount of time so the runs cannot be too long (A bit over 2 hours is the maximum for me).
I do have access to a ps4, switch, wii, gc, wii u and my PC, however I am limited to a GTX 970 GPU as of right now. I dislike too RNG heavy games, glitches are fun but I like good movement just as much. The majority of speedgames I played were platformers or glitchheavy games. The optimal runtime would be around an hour and the run should be at minimum around 15 minutes. And please, not too many autoscrollers. Also, I do not enjoy FG or Beat em ups at all.
Perhaps there could be no "pronouns" sections at all, but instead a small section where you can choose to include your pronouns and also a short "blurb" about yourself?
Yeah exactly what I said earlier. This 1000x (for the love of god I really need to learn how to quote on srdc) (edit: I found out how to quote)
I was writing a very long paragraph about the textboxes but what I actually realized is that in general a custom textbox would be nice below your username. Some people like having a custom flair, just like on reddit for example.
Within this flair you could put in your pronouns. Maybe this way it actually disincentivize the trolls from abusing it and making fun of pronouns. I quite frankly would like to have simply a custom box to put whatever I want into this, maybe I like to point out that I am a glitchhunter or just as the current system does, my pronouns.
Last but not least we have to ignore the trolls and people who break rules with offensive flairs need to get banned. I am well aware that this might add a lot of extra moderation but other platforms and sites can handle this as well. The question here is: Is it due to a lack of moderators in total to handle the workload? Or a missing system to review reports for a user? Or a missing system for user punishments? Or a reporting system in the first place is missing?
Anyways just my 2 cents. Add a custom box.
