馃 I feel like you've been at this w/ another account called Fake_Speedruns and you've been told repeatedly to just point any old camera at the screen at the very least.
No Video means there's no evidence you ever even did the run, or even own the game for that matter. So if a mod verifies your run just because "it's bad enough" that person is a bad mod.
just get a camera, there's ones for 5 bucks, those are enough already. (yes, I'm very much saying @Area51 & @Dotsarecool should not have verified those runs)
Eh, it's just hard to believe. Webcams are cheap as dirt, laptops have them built in typically. Don't have a pc? That's okay your phone has a camera. Have none of those things? How are you here then?
Yeah, the thing is...speedruns kind of need to be proved. And that's not really so likely to be done without a camera. I mean I measured my time for a Chamber of Secrets (GC) run by a real clock, memorised it and wrote it down on a piece of paper, but that's the closest to proof I could get without using a camera and showing it here. And without filming (not images as they have more probability of being doctored than films), that doesn't really count.
Maybe it's not about you; maybe it's about making other people feel comfortable. Maybe using a camera is a simple courtesy to other runners that takes little to no effort.
I can鈥檛 record my speedrun without a camera pointing at the screen because I don鈥檛 have the equipment needed to do so. So how do I submit a speedrun.
All games have their own rules for what is acceptable proof for submissions. Check the rules of the game or contact the mods to find out what they require. Most games require some video proof because otherwise there is practically no way to verify you actually did the run.
