yeah I took out the IL board and put it into the main since IL sorting is painful to see and deal with so I think I have it set up in a way to works for the game as is now. and technically the berserker rings were suppose to be removed from the game before it game to NA but that never happened I guess.
IL runs will obviously be NG+ as well as the missions
Generally thats how many NG+ categories go, but with how broken the rings can make runs it could warrant a separation for those alone. Having it as is right now doesnt change anything because its only a variable but if changes were to be made it will make things easier this way.
tracking the info as a variable will make any of these decisions a bit easy depending on what seems or would work better but atm not to sure myself. Been awhile since I've done anything serious with the game, and I still want to more attempts for V ranking runs as well but those require allot of combat tech to pull off.
Berserker rings are fairly broken and unlocked only through beating all the difficulties hence why its not included at this time directly, this could be changed in the future but it does greatly affect ones ability to do a run regardless if they have the standard gear maxed or not.
As for the glitch-less category thought it would require a bit more looking into to define it more before it would be worth adding as those categories are always fairly touchy to define, something that can be worked on in the future for sure tho.
My suggestion for minimal delay and good performance is seek out an internal AverMedia card I've used them and still do with next to no delay. They are a bit pricey but they do the job nicely for capturing hdmi sources, I can even capture GC and PS2 with it using an rca to hdmi converter and the capture card makes the vast majority of my sources look better then what I would see on my output normally due it its encoding.
Elgato cards from what most people I know that have had them have some minor to major delay depending on which ones you get and what the input source is because of how the encoding for them works. Take a look at the sites and compare them and figure out which brand and type of card you want to get and look on either amazing or similar to find someone that retails them.
Reminder that I'm still waiting on several Runners from the Games list posted in the Pastebin link above to respond via the google doc form so I can work more on the scheduling side of things.
Just over 40 days till the event so please get to that if not already, thank you.
Also if you have any questions or concerns about your runs for anything contact me either on twitter or in the discord and we can sort out anything that could be an issue leading up to the event day(s).
I am In the process of updating the Leaderboards to reflect some needed changes due to the differences of doing a fresh New Game run vs New Game+ as well as if Beserker Rings were used or not specifically for NG+ runs as they give a fair bit of an advantage over runs without them.
"New Game" and "New Game+" have been added as sub-categories for Story Mode runs, and Difficulty will also be changed into a sub-categories as well for Story Mode runs.
Beserker Rings have been added currently as a variable but may be changed into a sub category at a later point because of the differences they make on NG+ runs for Story Mode.
Skips/Glitches is also a current variable that may also follow a similar path to make way for all fights within Story Mode runs, as you can skip several fights within stages which can save a fair amount of time as well compared to doing all the fights for Either any Grade or V rank which is the highest grade to achieve in the game.
This changes will take a bit of time to do as I'm just getting back into doing runs myself and never got to these things in the past since my focus was just playing the game mostly as is.
Feel free to contact me here on the forums or on twitter, twitch or youtube to discuss or ask questions about the game and rules etc.
I personally have been using Avermedia internal capture cards and even tho they only take hdmi input you can covert older inputs to hdmi keeping the same if not improved quality depending on what ur willing to spend in general things like a framemiester or even just a rca to hdmi would work fine since I use that instead and works great for gbc, psx or ps2 etc.
Tho one thing you may need for some newer systems with hdmi inputs is a splitter that removes built in hdcp that prevents capturing consoles like the ps3 or xboxone afaik.
Elgato is another slightly less expensive route does have delays and has more options in the variety of inputs either with and internal or external capture. Best to do a bit if research on them and see what u want to go for price wise and then look at what you'll need to get working the way you want before hand.
Handheld consoles like the 3ds require capture devices installed to them and atm is costly due to only a few know sources that provide the service and it's still new hopefully there will be better alternatives down the road for that.

Basically we can have what we call legacy maps which are tripwire maps as a group and the others grouped accordingly. Community maps being another set of maps.
In the interest of keeping the competition of those who are actively running the game tracking the patch or version number and then just requiring to run at latest show the version number which is normally visible from the start screen.
Alternatively could just do a 2 way split for pre 1.16 and latest 1.16+ which would in include RM versions as well.
The only thing with that is when they add a new map it would obsolete previous runs then. So maybe we set it up to be certain number or levels or specific groups of levels so that that's bot always the case?
First cuts have basically been decided, just a few remain to judge. We had a larger number of submissions as a response then we expected and this is very pleasing, however this mean we had to cut runs that primarily did not meet our requirements even if it was awesome. and then we had to look at them deeper and find the games and people that were entertaining and fun to see and watch from a viewer perspective. Not an easy thing to do with over 90 hours of runs to watch, when we are aiming to fill about 48 hrs initially it makes it pretty hard to decide.
Soon I will be releasing the list of games that will be going into round 2, by that point I can say that your submission is most likely besides anything else that may affect it other wise. After which point I release the list I will also have a form up for runners to give us your time of availability and contact info, after which I would ask you to be in the discord as well and we can work with you to make sure everything leading up to and during the event runs smoothly.
We should have our list soon for the runs that will be included into the marathon before last cuts for scheduling. Please make sure once we have the list to contact with your availability with the accompanying form.
