There are a few ways to interpret the "platform" on speedrun.com

Some have platforms for every possible platform you can play it on. If GBP is added, then DS will be added as well, along with others.

Some have platforms for every release of the game, such as a game being released on PS2, XBOX, and GC.

It's not an oversight, and I think that the way this page is meant to be interpreted as the latter. If you run on GBP, tick the "GBA" as the platform used, as that is the cartridge you used.

strats are never banned. normal refers to warps being allowed

what they should've done is make SBM categories misc. just click "view rules"

@MODS if you already have assist mode as a subcategory you don't need it as a variable.

Run is done on a new file. Timing starts upon pressing start on the title screen. Timing ends when all practice mode stages, minigames, and continues are unlocked.

The run is to be completed without use of any cheat codes.
