Hello, have been playing with Blaze on Normal, but finding a couple parts really difficult. Abedede seems to have some strat where you jump into him and then you can grab and throw him...but there is something I am not understanding. I always end up smacked away or grabbed, or run punched. Could someone explain how to fight him with Blaze? Also does anyone understand how that Zamza ninja boss even works? Having a hard time jump kicking him. I tried to do the jump-grab-throw-repeat tech, but was not having luck with that either. Any help would be appreciated.
Any links to speedrun explanations for Blaze?
Cannot view Souless_gouki's run. I have flash enabled and I know it works, however it runs nothing. Could someone link me a version of that run that I can watch? Like something on niconico or youtube?
Also the guide does not work. Is there an updated link for that as well?
Hello I am trying to work out strategies and mechanics for TM2 for a TAS. I am not extremely familiar with the game so any advice to create an optimal run per level would be amazing. I can basically "select" randomness by playing differently so any best experiences you have I should be able to beat, since I control the game frame by frame.
Here is a WIP. Please tell me anything I have missed or should get to make the overall run faster.
If you have locations of remotes and other weapons I should get or be using don't hesitate to tell me. I would hate to create a run, and then have speedrunners of the game lambast it for missing basic pickups, features, or strategies.
Using save states to practice speedruns vastly reduces the time to create quality speedruns. I go into detail on why and how it is done in this video. Any feedback would be appreciated to improve it or to make followup videos.
Hello going to be slowly updating this thread to try and get a handle on various glitches, clips, and oddities. Anyone is free to share whatever glitches or oddities they have here. There have been some new developments within Shinobi III that should further decrease the time of Any% and No Kunai.
The first and newest glitch that I would like to put out there is a skip for Final Confrontation as well as an explanation for it. BaconOmelette has pretty much refined it. Below it I will place a video for showing how to go into objects when there is a reloading zone. Reloading zones occur every 10 or so screens.
First is BaconOmelette's video showing the loading zone's using LUA scripts.
BaconOmelette Showing my Down Clip and Pit Traversal with LUA displaying position.
Me showing one way to do that Skip to End of FC (double jump, go to floor, then use ninjitsu and hold up)
I show how I am controlling the y screen position, and the y position in the screen to get ejected into the pipe from a loading zone.

Going to post some text I posted in the Shionbi III discord where most of this progress has been taking place.
when the game reloads a section it resets you to the "top" of the level at whatever Y position you were OUTSIDE The current view so say you are are hanging under the level...or FALLING outside the screen when it reloads then you go to that y position only at the top so say we use [y-screen number, y-pos] if you are on the bottom of that FC, i think the y screen is 1 and you are on around 240 on that bottom area with the crawl space so you could say [1,240] once it reloads you are fine since that is within the view however if you go to [2,50] you would be falling to your death outside the view the game will reset you to [0,50], which in this case would be near the top of that last reloading section in FC within the wall. keeping that y-position, but resetting the y-screen number when it reloads when you are -2, you get reset [0,y-position] for -3 y screen, you go to [-1, y-position] so.... in essence if you knew you were near a loading zone and say there was a pipe in the normal view from [0,0] to [0,100] of course with the screen position y positions have the top of the screen as the "0", and to bottom as "256" then you would want your position in the ceiling, before it loaded to be between [-2,0] to [-2,100] then your new position after reloading would be between [0,0] to [0,100] inside the pipe
Wanted to watch a full speedrun, but looks like there is an entry on the leaderboards but no video, not even a screenshot of anything. It's a real shame.
So sometimes I guess with the site is under the "Heavy Load Error" the page only half loads. Looks pretty strange. Using Chrome.
Maybe my Adblocker has something to do with it too. But this odd display of the message only happens sometimes. Usually i just get the page with just the heavy load message.

What were some of your best experiences while speedrunning? Curious to see what people find most enjoyable. For example, my favorite experience was finding a bug in Dark Wizard where I could place units wherever I want.
From some drama posts I got that Wolf Mame is used, but what else?
Years ago I had made a speedrun of this: https://www.speedrun.com/Silent_Bomber/run/6yj96noz . The mod had submitted my run there from sda which is fine. This was years before I even had an account here. But now that I have a lot of stuff on this site I would like to have the run attached to this account. Any way to do this?
I submitted a game request for Metomaqester, but in Japan it is known as Oni - The NInja Master. How does the site deal with this? Will it be searchable under both names? Would I have to set that up somehow? Thanks.
To get the registration card you have to enter the names of the creatures in the forest and yourself. How did you just put in the disk and then get the registration card back immediately? It occurs at 5:25. I guess this is some kind of glitch?
I have watched a couple videos of bad games from the Amstrad CPC of some of the worst games on the system and several of them are not finishable. If I wanted to speedrun these types of games, would it be possible to get a gamepage? Would time end at the point when the game crashes perhaps?
- Airwolf - Glitch with the timer prevents you from ever being able to finish since you explode at 11:11 seconds, and the game also crashes if you get to the final room.
- Death Kick - game is not finishable, glitches on fighting enemy a couple screens left.
Hello would you like to create a Sword + Clones or something like that for a category? I was able to complete the game with just those and I would like to submit it. Then reduce the time down. Would that be possible?
Wonder if anyone else noticed that after killing a guy it seems that the enemy seems not to attack as much for a short while. Wonder why.
No idea if there is some use for this. This just seems like a harmful bug, though easy enough to get past.
The Flight Spell has a glitch where it will cost 24 mp. If you cast it with NO mp the bug actiates. Go into some event like a battle and you can cast it like normal again.
The second way of activating it is to cast a Passwall in battle then run. Then try to cast Flight outside of battle.
On some these guys I did over a hundred "kills". Some of them I just briefly checked to see if they would drop anything outside the scope of the "Floor Level" drop like Silver Sword or Dagger. The way the game seems to work with drops is that it is determined at some point after the end of the battle. So to test make a save point right when you kill the enemy. Then on random points on the final prompt that pops up gold/exp, or rank up message you press confirm. Much faster than trying to just keep track as I play. That method is valid for any enemy. Just save, press confirm on prompt, see if you got an item, then reload, repeat.
So far my conclusion seems to be that the rewards are floor based, not enemy based. Which sounds like good news since even scrub enemies could give you great drops on that floor. Although some enemies seemed to be more willing to give the better rewards like Snakes or Super Zombies. That's my theory ATM anyway.
Also seems that if you have no empty space on the guy that dealt the finishing blow you get no drop. So yea there's that.
Later on if I play the later floors I will continue the list, but please add to this thread.
