Hello! I want to speedrun lots of campaign levels... but I am really confused. The rules say we can speedrun no higher than 2.0, but 2.0 is "FAST" while all the speedruns on the board are done at 1.5 which is "NORMAL". I can see the text "NORMAL" on some runs.
So what am I running at? FAST or NORMAL? If I follow the rules and do it on 2.0 which the rules say I can, I will have an unfair advantage against all other players?
Can you make it clear for me what speed I need to use otherwise I can't run? :(
4.0 and 8.0 is the higher speed for HD edition only but not allowed in speedrun
1.0 is slow 1.5 is normal 2.0 is fast
2.0 is max possible in speedrun
william wallace is auto 1.5
To add to Bellum,
Aoe2 is timed using RTA (Real Time Attack) not IGT (in game time) so technically you could do speedrun on 1.5 (normal) but you would be slower compared to someone running at 2.0 (fast).
Hope this helps.
Okay I understand. Some campaign levels have a fixed speed that cannot be changed in the options, therefore I will do all runs on 2.0, the standard "FAST" speed. I'll be submitting some runs!
yes, but sometimes with the HD edition, if you have a shiting PC (example for 10 FPS) IGT is 6:50 and real is ~16:44
- the higher speed decrease your FPS (8.0 is unplayable)
10 FPS is 1x iirc. Normal fast speed is 20 FPS, so it makes sense to also record on 20 FPS
