Per a previous thread, I still have access to beta features even though I'm not a supporter (whether I like it or not).
Just want to say that I'm really happy that this change was implemented:
My supporter ran out last week and so now I can't remove the beta features on my profile (options are disabled in settings), and I can't edit them in any way, so my profile is currently locked (wrt/ to these features). I'd like to either be able to still edit them or be able to opt out of the beta myself, since the profile is outdated.
Thanks.
Hi all,
I've been writing typescript definitions for speedrun.com's API (https://github.com/speedruncomorg/api) for a few weeks now to make it easier to work with.
Here it is: https://github.com/mitchell-merry/src-ts And here's a project I've written with the types: https://github.com/mitchell-merry/srcom-data-generator (scrapes data & loads it into a google sheets document with certain formatting).
I'd ideally like to contribute this to the DefinitelyTyped types repository (@types, https://github.com/DefinitelyTyped/DefinitelyTyped).
Please, if you're familiar with TypeScript, take a look at the definitions. I'd love to hear any constructive feedback you might have (first time doing this sort of thing), and feel free to contribute to the repo yourself. I'd especially like to hear if I've done anything in a particularly obtuse way / if there are cleaner ways to do certain things, or if I've not followed certain best practices.
Thanks!
Edit: I should note that there is no support for bulk access and requests other than GET for now.
This is a collection of historic runs that can't be on the boards for one reason or another.

I like it. Although sometimes when the vertical height of the page is too short it appears too high, i.e. it should stick to the bottom no matter the height of the contents of the page, but i like the design.
Was going back and forth between the pages in the modhub, and:

This very game had a blog post written about it recently: https://www.speedrun.com/news/807-2021-6-21-coming-soon-severed-steel-an-fps-for-speedrunners
It's board doesn't open for another week.
Um... wtf? This seems horribly misjudged, and I'm not even sure that this is an advertisement?
Hey guys,
I believe we're starting to see a trend in Discord and their staff, which is one of neglecting their user base, bot developers, and most feedback, that will not last long. Discord has largely stayed the same since I joined it 5 years ago, barring some minor features (and nitro features). Things that I have been begging for for years only being introduced by this year and the next, for example.
I cannot do it justice myself, but if you want a good read about this, check out this gist: https://gist.github.com/Rapptz/4a2f62751b9600a31a0d3c78100287f1?a on why discord.py (python library for discord bot APIs) will no longer be maintained.
My question to everyone is; what are your thoughts on moving communities, specifically ones surrounding Speedrunning, to alternatives? Is this something you're considering? How would you go about doing so? While I've maintained many large servers, some related to speedrunning, some not, the idea of trying to move one of those communities is a nightmare, but I feel that the lifetime of Discord is waning.
One of the alternatives I'm considering is Guilded; https://www.guilded.gg/blog/guilded-top-10-features-standalone . It seems to be the best one available right now. I haven't spent enough time in the environment yet to properly weigh the options, though.
Here are some of my concerns:
- Reluctance of users to create another account for another platform
- Potential fragmentation of communities / need to re-build a platform / home, especially for the many smaller communities out there
- The structure might not make sense for a lot of games/communities atm
- The place just isn't very popular
I've also heard of Element (matrix), which I've made an account on, but I'm not holding onto the hope that that site is worth the watch.
Thoughts?
Can't upload a release date with today's date because I live in australia and am in the future compared to the US. Please fix (I know I'm missing the actual file, not important here).
I'm not looking for anybody, thanks.
his username is penguinz0 on here - https://www.speedrun.com/granny_pc/run/yv1k3oey - should change the name
Might be worth to make a google sheet for high scores, as well. Just wanna share this lol: https://imgur.com/a/0kzPfYv
any% shouldn't require all events, only the ones required to get to stage six. you could have subcategories: "Any%", "All Events", "100%", where 100% would be like, get all paint jobs and 3 medals on every event or something, idk i just downloaded this game
and for the current rules, time stops when when you complete the final event, right? (also i am using an emulator for wii u because the pc version is impossible to find)
Hi, I'm a moderator of cuphead, and we have a large community of players who speak languages other than English, most notably Spanish (as our largest players, rickyedit and TMR, are large spanish twitch streamers).
Having so many non-english runners inspired us to make translations for other languages, not just spanish. Speedrun.com doesn't provide much support for this, so I've had to come up with our own way of providing these. You can see how I've implemented them if you open up the rules and go to the Game Rules tab on any category (also the japanese translation has many strats as well, and as such it has it's own guide to house it as well).
I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue and how they've overcome it. I am a strong advocate for native src support for this, as I think it's extremely important to internationalise the community and support runners of other languages.
Microsoft does not support flag emojis. On speedrun.com, there are a few places where you can type flags as [us], like in the username when you submit on behalf of someone else. Is there anyway to do this in other locations? For example, we have guides in multiple languages now, and I want to be able to mark / sort the guides using a flag indicator. I might post this in the feedback thread, but doubt it will get seen, so that's why I'm asking if there's a workaround. If not, I might try the feedback form if I can find it.
Hi all, I was updating our game's Resources page when I tried to add a tool from a user on our discord who, as far as I know, does not have a discord account. Their name is dude, but when I put their name as "Author", it linked to another account with the same name. How do I properly dissociate the name from the account? The way I did it was put a zero-width space () after their name, which did the trick, but I'm wondering if there's a legitimate way to do so. Cheers.
(resource is the top in the list https://www.speedrun.com/cuphead/resources here)
