is that doable on ntsc??

Germany

The clip is possible with running speed on NTSC but the cutscene does not start, probably because you have so much momentum or something. If you want to play this category again I would honestly recommend to play the PAL version on emulator if you don't have a PAL PS1/2, I'm playing on emulator right now myself.

I'd rather stick to console, but I'll look into getting the pal version some time down the road.

Germany

Do you have a PAL PS1 or PS2? :)

United States

Not at the moment, but some day I'll get one for PAL exclusives (and faster PAL ports)

100% is a better and way less arbitrary category anyways. But for me just a bit too long.

The clip may only work on PAL but there's also a great setup I found for a skip with the ice blocks in there.

Germany

@PoomersKJT Which barrier skip do you mean? Do you mean the gate skip in the very first level (Where you get most of the powerups) or the door clip in the next level?

Australia

Yes, first level where you gain like 4 powers it's called peacock something :D

I can't do it I sat down for more than an hour just jumping at the gate and watching your run over and over again trying to replicate it.

The gate jumping only works on PAL. If you are playing on NTSC then it won't work.

Australia

But on Tigame's WR he uses the glitch and it says he played on emulator, unless that's incorrect information.

United States

yes he played on emulator using a PAL iso

Haha sorry mate, my knowledge with the PAL and NTSC is not that good. But still curious as to his reset frequency with this skip.

Australia

Ok so i realised it is very easy to do as I did play it on my ps2 which is in fact PAL, however would someone be able to link a PAL ISO of this game please? Everyone I've downloaded ends up being NTSC apparently. The reason as to why I don't want to play it on ps2 is just because my controller is screwed.

Thanks in advance

Sadly the PAL version seems to be super hard to find online. I only have the German PAL ISO, which I converted directly from my own copy (CD) of the game to my PC. You can look up on YouTube how to convert it to your PC (in the .bin/.cue format) if you have a DVD drive. If you won't be able to do that at all we can talk further. EDIT: Here is a tutorial:

I am very hesitant to put this here but I found an Italian PAL iso online. I don't know if I'm breaking the law by sharing it here but here it is: http://domustation.altervista.org/muppet-monster-adventure-ps1-ita/ Don't worry, it's not a virus.

Could we have IGT and have it take priority over RTA categories?

I understand it’s probably a pain to get around to figuring out one’s IGT but would mean loading times can be taken out of the equation. I started doing NG+ again with an actual PS2 but has issues as it takes an obscure amount of time to load on random loading screens.

If it were to be a thing, I would happy to calculate the IGT for the top times of the categories as of currently.

I will just proceed on emulator for decent loading times if we will not worry about implementing IGT.

(Didn’t know which thread to post this to, didn’t want to create a new thread)

I am very hesitant to make time without loads take priority over RTA before we have an accessible tool ready. Even if you would be willing to retime runs, it isn't a solution that would be sustained long-term. Did you try running it on PS2 with Fast Disc Speed enabled?
