as discovered by Sxk, you can use a glitch to teleport to the left on the first level to save 1 second. in the video below is shown how to do the glitch, it's a trick almost frame perfect and you have to time well to work.

• you have to start (or restart the level)
• don't move
• pause
• unpause and press right FAST (but not simultaneously)
• take your finger off the screen or the character will continue to the right

you can wait to pause because depending the moment you do the glitch, the timing of the monster changes helping or disrupting your run The timer only starts when you do the glitch, so you can wait whatever you want. A tip I give you is for timing the moment you pause with the music. the video below shows a good time to pause because if you do in that moment of the music, the monsters will align to you do the run tricks like elevator strats and the first fairy.
