Not sure what you mean. You can go over and under things but not through them. If the runners avoid doing something, it probably is a glitch and vice versa
Every run that starts from a save state should be simply rejected. It's common sense that save states do not belong to full run attempts. It's a tool for practicing. Emulator have a reset button. Use it.
Additionally, the rules state that "• Gens32Surreal is recommended, it emulates lag very accurately". This is horribly inaccurate. Recommended emulators are Fusion, Regen, RetroArch or even BizHawk.
On the Road Rash 2 forums: "Redlof mentions that he had much faster times IGT vs RTA, and was found due to loading times of the Gens [32 surreal] emulator being quicker than others. " Even Barney's hide and seek runs too fast without doing any inputs, I've heard. This is why people should never use any version Gens. it runs faster than other emulators.
Yeah PS3 should be removed and PS4 and XboxOne added.
This post explains how to calculate RTA-TB (real time minus time bonuses).
Sum up all time bonuses and divide it by the Genesis framerate 59.9228 times 100. This formula derives from the fact that 100 points equals one frame.
Example: 50 000 points 50000/(59.9228*100)=8.34406937 seconds
Subtract that time from your RTA time. Time to be subtracted is typically around 50 seconds or less.
You can do this semi-automatically with the plugin found under Resources or alternatively by using a spreadsheet. Remember that you can just submit your RTA time (or anything, really) and a verifier will calculate RTA-TB.
@rDanny the game already exists https://www.speedrun.com/sf2ce#Arcade_Mode_Normal (Click on "More...").
I'd like to see a separate leaderboard for it but what can you do ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Those games would just need separate leaderboards, which is not a problem.
Requesting Psychic World series for Psychic World: https://www.speedrun.com/psychicworldsms
There are 3 different games that are quite different from each other. I'd rather have a separate leaderboard for all of them.
If you have downloaded the script file manually from GitHub, you must go to Edit layout.... -> (+) Control -> Scriptable Auto Splitter, and set the path.
But it exactly as me and mr_double07 wrote above, the easiest way is just to set the correct game name and click activate. There is no need to ever go to GitHub.
The differences are so minor that it makes no sense in separating them at the moment. Just play on your preferred difficulty. I personally always like to play games on the default difficulty ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Easy is a bit easier casually (duh) mostly because of some platforms in Inside the Lamp not disappearing and because of hearts restoring more of your health, but if you play well enough on any difficulty, that actually won't slow you down (much). Normal and Difficult are almost identical. I might do easy mode runs at some later point because of the Lamp stage.
We might reconsider separating them if there were a dozen top times that are almost tied ;)
Yes, it's legal (and even recommended). The rules are a bit ambiguous about that.
Good catch, it's fixed now. It was actually the wrong video from the same day. The previous video disappeared because Twitch changed their VoD system and I later "fixed" it by copy-pasting the wrong link.
Something like a sister site would be a possible solution. But please no high scores on this site, ever.
Yeah just replace real times with IGT and remove in-game time in the settings. Here's an example of the result (and the series also serves an example of how I would separate the games ;). https://www.speedrun.com/supermonacogpgenesis#Super_Monaco_GP
Please add http://www.speedrun.com/luckydimecaper and http://www.speedrun.com/deepducktrouble to http://www.speedrun.com/mickey_mouse_illusion
The games are pretty much a Donald counterpart to the Mickey games.
The mobile game is here: http://www.speedrun.com/Sonic_1_2013
It's actually very different from the original :P
