Correction: it looks like the types of individual levels pages that aren’t loading are ones with more than one category. IL pages with only one category seem to load just fine, like https://www.speedrun.com/smo/individual_levels
An example of a page that is returning a 500 error is https://www.speedrun.com/ifos/individual_levels
I think this is happening for all individual levels pages on the site, including individual level leaderboards for games. Right now I'm also getting a 500 response for all the individual levels leaderboards on all the games I follow
See this thread for why they got removed from the leaderboard https://www.speedrun.com/fg2/thread/x0zcd
I forgot to mention that when we time without loads, we don’t include the hole preview at all, so it will have no impact on the loadless time no matter what
Sorry, I should've been more thorough in my explanation. Because this game is a mobile game, you're gonna have to rethink the concept of advantage/disadvantage.
For most games, all runners are using the same hardware, i.e. same game console. For this reason, you can use the elapsed time to compare runs fairly, i.e. put them on the same leaderboard. If a game was released on multiple consoles, there is often a separate leaderboard for each console.
Because this game is a mobile game, every runner will be running on different hardware, which will impact loading times. Even if all runners disabled the hole preview, this does not change the fact that a new 2nd gen iPad will load holes faster than a Samsung Galaxy S6 or a refurbished iPod Touch that may have previously been dropped in the toilet. We can't set up a different leaderboard for each type of device. For this reason, the only way to fairly compare runs is to subtract out load times from each run. If you look at, for example, the Golf Land Any% board you'll see that your 1:18.036 is faster than my 1:11.373. This is because your gameplay was faster, even despite your running on slower hardware
Time with loads doesn't really matter. To truly compare runs, you have to time both without loads
After a discussion on the Discord, we have decided to remove Individual Holes for the following reasons:
- It would be very hard to maintain -- we would need to submit up to 9 new runs every time a full level run is submitted, and the timing convention differs from how we calculate hole times for full level RTA runs
- A single hole is ridiculously short for a speedrun
- The category feels bulky/clunky to have, and it takes up extra space on the Level Leaderboard page. Much of it is hidden by default and hard to navigate
If one or more of your runs were removed, we would love to see your skills in a full-level run
We don't include the hole preview in timing because the timings vary based on device. Check out this thread in the Flappy Golf 2 forum: https://www.speedrun.com/fg2/thread/zuh8p
Thanks for rolling back some of the changes. It would be great if we could customize the fill and outline colors of the leaderboards and navbar like before; the unchangeable dark gray really doesn't go with the background and logo we had before. As for transparency, bring it back, but don't allow it to be less than 70% or 80%. And it would be nice but not necessary to have the background and foreground positioning back (but not scrolling); around the holidays I liked to add a repeating tessellated snow gif to the foreground of the leaderboards I mod
That sounds like a lot of fun. And 2 hours seems like a very reasonable timeframe
I think that would be very cool. You’ve done charity events in the past. How would it work, though? It’s really hard to get a PB / WR in this game

I don't have a set schedule yet, but feel free to swing by to watch some record attempts
Hi all. Several months ago, the FG2 mod team decided cutting out menuing from load times altogether would make timing more fair. This is because clicking on the "next level" button will sometimes lag in devices that are slow and/or streaming. This change has not been carried out yet, due to the sheer number of runs that would have to be retimed. However, now that we have to retime a bunch of runs anyway, due to the new timing convention, I thought that now would be a good time to implement this change too.
So for individual level runs, "time without loads" will be the sum of the times for each individual hole:
Hole 1 Start time on first flap Pause timer on first frame of hole entry
Holes 2-8 Continue time on first frame that the flap buttons appear onscreen Pause timer on first frame of hole entry
Hole 9 Continue time on first frame that the flap buttons appear onscreen Stop time on first frame of hole entry
The newly discovered pause strats should have no effect on the timing, because pausing doesn't change the time that the flap buttons appear onscreen.
This is how I time runs already in Super Stickman Golf 3. here is an example of a run timed using this method.
Also over the next few days, I will be streaming the timing of runs on my Twitch channel https://www.twitch.tv/msbmteam .
Happy flapping!
The leaderboard should be back to normal. Sorry for the notification spam :/
While updating the rules to reflect the recent rule change, I accidentally deleted all IL runs of Golf Land. Whoops.
Not to worry though, it should be very easy (albeit time consuming) to recover all the runs due to a new "audit log" feature that was added to this site in the recent months. Hopefully all the runs will be back up before anyone notices, but this post is here as an explanation just in case.
I think there’s a problem with accepting photos as evidence. This is the 2nd time I’ve seen a fake high score screenshot posted to this leaderboard. I respect your decision as a mod of this game, but I think screenshots have proven very easy to fake, while videos are impossible to fake. In this day and age, video evidence is the standard.
EDIT: actually, @RonnieWeston is right, the top right corner of the 9 should be rounded. Therefore, it is pretty safe to say this was Photoshopped.
I would like to say, however, that a screenshot like this would be incredibly easy to Photoshop, and it is suspicious that a score of 2296 doesn't appear on the GameCenter rankings:
