Dash canceling

When you dash, iZBOT pauses briefly mid-air, gets a boost of speed and then pauses briefly again. However, if you jump out of a dash, then you skip the last pause and you retain some of the momentum from the dash. If executed cleanly and correctly this is the fastest way to move in the game.

Triple jump

This was originally discovered by Messenger. If you jump and pull up the pause menu (by pressing Start or Esc) while holding the jump button, the game grants you a third jump. Really useful in e.g. levels 10, 23 and 79.

An alternative way of doing it (and IMO, a lot easier) is to bind the Z key as a second jump button on the controller. To triple jump simply hold the previous jump button down until you've pressed the next one. Like so:

  • press: Jump1
  • press: Jump2
  • release: Jump1
  • press: Jump1

This works because the game counts the jumps when releasing the buttons (as evident from the color of the trail changing from green to red upon letting go of the last jump).

Bounce cancelling

When bouncing on things (like springs and bosses), the height of the bounce can be limited by doing a short jump mid-air. This can significantly speed up boss fights, e.g. Boss 1 and Bedlor / the final boss.
