I think at this point, the starting pilot doesn't really matter. It's safer to just turn all of them into grid to cover losses. I did use controller again in this run, mainly to speed up menuing. The initial "take out the pilots and Viscera Nanobots" part is a definite time save, but buying grid power probably could be a bit faster. I need practice on that last island though... Yikes.
