I'm personally against it, we have waaaaay too many categories as it is.
What I see is someone identifying a rare but lets say a problem that could in practice happen. So can we also present a reasonable solution and do something about it, or just accept that its out of our hands to realistically control this variable?
You identified a problem, great! Is it solvable?
@R0main Just to clarify, because I had a hunch I'd see a post from this guy in here. Every decision I've made in regards of this particular runner: Have been thoroughly discussed with @Toad22484
There are several red flags from his submissions and I've gone above and beyond in explaining what is required from him. He then proceeds to ignore most of my advice come emulation setup or showing legitimacy.
Well first of all, I don't see a glitchless category PERIOD. So since nobody's actually asked about that yet, I don't see a point to actually make this "All Medalions Glitchless" category.
Its a pretty niche game to begin with, I wouldn't bother with any of this until the community grows and seems to advocate for these changes.
If it were me, I'd prob add a little mod note in the edit tool that says "makes use of the infinite jump...." and IF in the future, there were to be categories made: Just throw runs in their rightful place respectively. That's my take on it so far.

Safe to assume you have every console released in the history of ever? I mean you didn't specify so I imagine you have absolutely everything.
I went for the wrong warp, I just removed all of mine. Their stuck in a hardlock within a display on my coffee table.
Good job! Honestly I'm just happy you did it with Bizhawk mGBA. Far too many GBA boards still allow VBA.. Nice to see someone actually did research for the rules.
There's no universal agreement for the NES community that it is or isn't. Some leaderboards will accept it, others won't. I personally believe its more accurate than some other emulators accepted and in use right now. But there's no definitive real answer for you.
Generally, if the vod meets the requirements for both categories then yes, you can submit to both.
https://www.speedrun.com/legend/forum this is where you meant to ask your question.
100% against this idea. It would just result in people creating useless meme categories for free records. Quality before quantity people.
I'm aware of the NES Advantege, I didn't get the feeling like that's what OG poster was leaning towards though. Considering the broad question is analog sticks (plural) for retro gaming generally.
My point still being that it should be close to OG hardware release. If there's a 2-stick controller for this retro system he's thinking about then I see no issue with it of course.
I personally would not play NES games with analog sticks simply because that's not how OG hardware was designed around the controller. Just because you may choose to be an emulator runner (such as myself), it does not mean you get complete freedom to do how you please simply because you're on emulator. Imagine re-binding buttons for NES Metroid so select mashing becomes easier.
It should be as close to OG hardware as possible if you ask me.
Look, when it comes to these things: Just let things happen naturally.
"Speedrunning looks fun, I wanna try it"
runs first game
"I've had my taste, I need moar!!!"
speedruns every game known to man
There's no real value in talking hypotheticals, best way to go about it is just to jump in headfirst and get your hands dirty.
Relationships are the worst for a speedrunner, break up right away! Unless co-op speedruns are on the table, then marriage could be a thing.
