We want new runners to have the opportunity to try out the run on emulator but if you put in the work to get under 1:20 then you really should be running on a legit version. Using the emulator is just a good way to see if you like the run enough to actually invest the money!
the difference is the instruction menus showing up before some songs, however:
you can turn off the instructions in settings before the run, this makes the difficulties identical in timing
hopefully there will be a verdict reached that condenses the leaderboard to story mode ntsc jp, story mode ntscu, story mode ex ntsc jp, and story mode ex ntscu. i would be good with making the difficulties variables so the runners that play on very hard can maintain that type of clout
what i will wind up doing is splitting the leaderboard between Wii/WiiU and PC if the cutscenes can be skipped but the PC version will 100% be accepted here!
would it be possible to use ms to count bloons popped instead of mins and secs? so my pb would be 0.911ms for 911 bloons popped.

Hey all, after running this game for the past 6 months I've realized that there is no difference between the difficulties in terms of time if you turn off the help text boxes in the options section of the game. Given this information, I think we should discuss getting rid of the different difficulties as different categories.
I see the biggest issue people may have is the removal of incentive to play the harder categories and while it technically would i see that very hard runs tend not to be numerous and the wr in story mode (ntscu) is done on very hard mode yet only beats one other run while it should be on top of the runs on other difficulties.
What do other people think? I'd like to hear other's opinions on this?
So far only an all missions run has been done with the PC version but I am willing to add PC to more categories as runs get submitted!
So I've been thinking about what to do about any% versus glitchless ILs. I'm leaning towards getting rid of the glitchless division because there are so few levels with significant glitches to them and if you want to run the level without glitches you can do 100%. It just seems as though if the majority of levels have no difference between any% and glitchless times we should refine the IL board. What is everyone's thoughts on the situation?
i can put them in as a misc category. would you mind telling me what levels are in each chapter?
I believe in the PC version you do not have to unlock levels by collecting xl or xs stuff so it defeats the purpose of collecting. We have PC runs in misc because there are more console runs.
My first instinct is to say no because if your are using a cheat code there is little way to verify that youre doing everything else legit BUT if you could show you were exclusively using the cheat that would certainly spark discussion
i remember this happening to me at some point, i believe it has something to do with the order you do things in the menu. I think if you add to the pile before clicking in for the individual levels it wont happen but this was a long time ago for me. i remember if that happened i zoomed out then clicked back for level selection and it would be fixed
Hi all! I noticed we could be a tad more clear on the difference between any% and glitchless on the IL board. As I'm sure you're aware, most levels do not have major sequence breaking glitches but are split anyway. For now we will count them as the same category because it is necessary to keep runs on the board for levels with glitches. So just submit them to each subcategory when you are submitting!
Hi I was wondering if I had to complete the special missions in order or if I could complete them in any order id like? I mostly want to put the special agent mission last bc its annoying to waste a bunch of special agents when my run dies.
so i will update my video titles to be more accurate but here's what i think we can land on
- the boards will stay "cheats and no cheats" (the thing that separates the two is the use of the pile increase/decrease cheat)
- glitches like hangar skip can be allowed in both categories
- 100% should not have separate subcategories because cheats won't actually make a difference in gameplay/route
if everybody is cool with these i will adjust rules and page layout, if anybody has something to add, feel free to let me know!
what videos can't you see? chie's youtube video's or the speedrun videos on the site?
Edit: I see that there is a problem with his youtube channel. Unfortunately I do not have his videos saved but until he fixes the issue I can personally vouch that his times are legit and I can make speedrun tutorial videos soon.
The answer to my question is that you have to delete the Little King's Story save data from the wii or sd card hard drive and then start a totally new save file data then the merchant should give you the gem fairly quickly
