I would like more reasoning to your statement.
We allow emulators and flash carts. I'm wondering how loading it on the SNES Classic is significantly more sketchy than playing on either of those?
I'd go with: try several of the approved emulators and use the one you feel the most comfortable with. Preferences seem to vary quite a bit from person to person.
I would not worry about not being able to time it perfectly. We retime all the runs anyway. I would recommend getting comfortable and consistent with the game first before worrying about the fancy party tricks.
As long as you're not using functionality not available on a stock NES brick controller, you can use pretty much whatever you want. Extra brownie points if you can complete the game with a GH controller.
Not accepted. It's been a while since someone asked this question, but we found an issue with it not being correct.
Switch version is allowed.
We're unlikely to ever bring back individual level or individual world categories aside from the current 1-1 Fire Mario and 8-4 ILs.
It opens the floodgates for people to submit runs for most of the levels that are tied with like 50 other people on some of the easier levels. In most cases, the data is not meaningful or useful enough to warrant the extra work and delaying people getting their runs verified even slower than they already are.
A website emulator will likely never be allowed. I've seen them run slow and I've seen them run at like 200% speed for no real reason. We have plenty of other options for you to choose from to run the game.
Click the rules button on the leaderboard page. It's a whitelist of approved platforms and emulators. Basically if it's not on there, we probably won't accept it without sufficient data to prove otherwise.
When I click the button to run it. I'll work on automating that at some point, but not many runs have been verified over the last few days anyway. This is still kinda in a "do people seriously want this to be a thing" stage.
