My analog is working just fine lol, just as it is in every other game which doesnt have this stupid glitch and where you dont move 40% faster just because you point the stick in a diagonal. Maybe you should tell Microsoft that they should fully extend their analogs cause that's how it's done.

If you found a way to straferun by using dual analog, like he says, then you will automatically straferun when you move the analog diagonally. So for example when you go down or up the stairs in facility you will have 40% more speed, and even if you dont use it the rest of the time you will be faster than me by 2 secs or 3.
Did you see how they beat my streets agent 1:27 dual analog time ? They used DPAD which makes the tank go faster when it turns, due to the same glitch which increases the speed diagonally, whereas with dual analog it slows down when it turns. When I used DPAD I got 1:20, because the tank handles like a go kart. So how is this an excuse on my part ?
I didn't insult you champ, this guy said you found a way to straferun by using dual analog, and that by using a third party controller. And the third party controller which is in the link above looks identical to the xbox one. You can only strafe run by using DPAD with the standard Xbox controller, not with dual analog which is the default control scheme for the game.

I think Rare were aware of the glitch when they were working on PD, but they either forgot to fix it or didn't bother fixing it because they knew some stupid people who think it's a great 'game mechanic' would complain and trash the game.

But why isn't the default moving speed faster than the tank then ? Seems like Rare deliberatelly set the forward speed slower than the tank, and put the tank in that level deliberately to complete the level with the tank. That's why it's shown at the end of the level everytime, regardless if you used it or not. I didnt say its a simulator, but a way more realistic shooter compared to Doom, Turok, Quake, and other fast paced Sci-Fi shooters.

So what if a third party controller can activate the glitch? You can also activate cheats with third party controllers. The fact is you cant activate it with the XBOX dual analog controller, because it has been fixed. And if you dont use the original controller you should be disqualified. How can anyone say its not a glitch, especially now that it has been fixed with dual analog control ? Do you really think that Rare devs were so retarded that they could not increase the max forward speed instead of forcing the player to run in a diagonal and look at the walls in order to move 40% faster ? Why would they introduce such a horrific game mechanic when they could simply increase the forward moving speed, or implement a dedicated run button ?
This thread is for advanced players who speedrun the game with the default dual analog control which fixes the dreaded strafe running glitch and makes the game much harder. It also makes it way more realistic since now Bond runs like an actual human instead of a crab in a diagonal, and cant outpace the tank in the streets level by using his secret crab like abilities. It also fixes the tank controls which are mario kart like with dpad, where the tank moves faster when it turns instead of slowing- another effect of the glitch.

How is strafe running cheating?
Because you press 2 buttons on DPAD and run 40% faster in a diagonal than with the default dual analog controls which has a 0% speed increase in a diagonal- which is how it should be and just like every other game out there is except 3. So by exploiting this DPAD strafe running glitch you gain an unfair advantage which is called a cheat.
And it's wrong because I explained 100 times why. There simply is no logical reason why the player should move faster in a diagonal, and if the devs wanted the player to move 40% faster they would have simply increased the Max Forward Speed by 40%. And its wrong because it makes Bond run faster than a 60kmh tank and because it completely messes the tank controls and makes it go faster when it turns, which is the exact opposite of what is right- i.e. go slower when it turns. Which is what the dual analog control does right. And this is the last time I explain why playing with DPAD is dead wrong and ruins the game.
So let me get this straight. You are the only one in the entire planet that plays this game with dual analogs (what you call "normal" speed) and you want a separate category just for you?
No, I am the only speedrunner who plays with dual analog aka no strafe running glitch and everyone else is cheating because they use the glitchy DPAD to run 40% faster in a diagonal which is a cheat so they are disqualified and therefore I am the best Xbox Goldeneye player in the world (Eli only beat me on one level, I still have 6 records or so; and no, that wasnt a meme run, he played for many weeks and hundreds of runs to get that 0:57 which is an incredible time).

The reason why no one gives a damn is because they are used to the N64 strafe running glitch for so many years and because there is no speedrunning category for Xbox dual analog which fixes that stupid glitch. So if this category will be made then more speedrunners will come and try to beat my records.

But cheating is so much convenient and easier when you just press two buttons and increase the running speed by 40% in a diagonal, wow what an incredible achievement. But why did he use DPAD when my record was for dual analog, and this is the category I requested ? Obviously because he cant beat my record by using the same glitchless controls that I do. He didnt do anything better than me and got 5 secs faster, simply by using this stupid glitch/cheat which makes the tank handle like a go kart. But when I used the same glitchy controls as him, I beat his time by 2 secs, and my analog one by 7 secs. So apples for apples I'm the best Goldeneye player here, and you should respect my authoritah.
But you are stubborn and simply cant accept the truth, which is that DPAD control is glitchy and combines forward and lateral speed which is equivalent to a cheat since you move so much faster in a diagonal when you use DPAD than the default dual analog controls which do not increase the speed diagonally. And besides archaic fps's like Doom2 or Turok, and PD which uses the same engine as GE, no other fps has this glitch.
Yes but Oot is a fantasy game set in a fantasy world and has nothing to do with the real world or the laws of physics. The fact that it starts at a talking tree kind of gives it away. And Link can also teleport by playing his magic ocarina- but that is not a glitch its how the game was designed to play. In the case of GE, the fact that you move faster in a diagonal when pressing up and left/right is a massive glitch which ruins the realism of the game and especially the Streets level, where the tank will increase its speed when it turns, instead of decreasing it, and where Bond can outpace the tank on foot which is ridiculous. But this glitch has been fixed on Xbox with dual analog controls- and is obviously a cheat because you move 40% faster while pressing up and left/right compared to the dual analog control, and also makes the tank move faster when it turns which again is cheating. That is why my record dual analog time could be beat so easily with the glitchy DPAD control scheme.

When I used the DPAD to control the tank, I beat my record by 7 secs easily. This just shows there is something very wrong with the DPAD controls, and you simply cannot compare a dual analog run with a DPAD run which fucks up the controls so bad.

When you play with DPAD the tank does not slow at all when you turn, and in fact it moves faster because it has the same stupid glitch that adds lateral and forward speed if you press up and left/right at the same time. Play with dual analog and then come back, because it slows the tank when it turns and it makes it handle like a...TANK. Not like a fucking go-kart. It feels like I'm playing Mario Kart with DPAD, the tank has no weight to it. The DPAD is a complete mess it fucks up the whole vehicle physics & game logic and makes Bond run faster than a tank in a diagonal, and that is why it should be banned from Xbox speedrunning.
You can laugh crabs, but I'm the top GoldenEye speedrunner right now and Ryan Crabwood is a joke. His 1:12 Streets run was only achieved because the N64 controls were super glitchy and combined lateral and forward movement which makes Bond run faster than a 60kmh tank in a diagonal- THAT is peak comedy. But this ridiculous glitch has been fixed on the Xbox default dual analog controls and I have set the record run at 1:27, which is more in line with the action movie where Bond actually used the tank to complete the mission, and did not run in a diagonal while launching himself with a grenade launcher. Dont you see that this straferunning glitch completelly destroys this movie based game, and turns it into a really bad parody which is impossible to watch or take seriously ?
Thanks, I played in the last two weeks on this level, I dont know the exact hour count. But I also played on 00A much more a year ago, when I set my other record. That was way way harder. Almost impossible if you get the guys with rockets at the end.
It would take Goose another christmas miracle to beat my Streets record. Thats why he doesn't want to compete in this category. In other words, he's chicken.
Almost got a 1:26 after four or five 1:27s...but I fire blanked a barrier and it was another 1:27.
I know, it took me a few days until I got under 1:30...I stopped at 1:27 because I only got 1:28s after that and I dont see how anyone can beat it really.
