I can't seem to run the demo from the demo UI.

Playing the demo by manually typing "playdemo" works for me, but the game crashes as soon as a portal has been fired (which is almost immediately).

You can also try installing the practice mod and enable unlimited render distance, which may help understanding what's going on.

I would also suggest you to join the discord server, as there are many people in there that will be able to answer your questions way faster than on these forums.

If you downpatch the game, you won't have the dream constructor anymore. You can always keep the latest update in a separate folder, so that you can quickly launch whichever version you want, without having to download the whole game again.

The game has been updated recently, so the downpatch may not work anymore. I haven't tested it myself yet.

For now, here's a possible workaround:

• Right-click your game and go to properties
• Go to betas, and install the steam launch version
• Once done, overwrite the files with the downpatch

The game was actually released on November 12, 2019, exclusively on the Epic Game Store. It was then released in July 2020 on consoles, and only a week ago on Steam.

That's not OOB, it's just an untextured room which is only accessible by using glitches.
