I feel lke 100% should be when getting 100% Mira survey since that's literally the only think considered by an actual counter. Having a counterin-game should be what's used toward % stuff. Everything else would probably be ina category like max% or something, but that's not for me; 100% is enough :P

Tbh I'm pretty sure 100% wouldn't take that long with proper planning. Affinity for example will mostly be done thanks to support missions, H2H (4H2H gives the final heart so we really just need 4hearts affinity grind, which shouldn't be too hard with a good phoenix/Ares if we feel it's faster) and a little with normal missions.

Any fights (basically tyrants) can be done on the ground with infinite overdrive, either with dual sword/gun or ether longsword/dual guns (shouldn't be too long to get an ether longsword even). And if we get an Ares it's also pretty easy. Even Telethia can be done on the ground, so we don't need too much extra stuff for him.

BLADE levels shouldn't be too hard to grind ad will more than likely be grinded with money in either the cave in Oblivia or Noctilum with all the collectibles as curators.

Now what's really left is missions. Most of them shouldn't be too hard, but the main issue will probably be all the FrontierNav materials: 50 Arc Sand Ore for Kristy's last mission (huh), ~80Aurorite for Platinum Membership (hopefully we don't need to actually do this one but I think we have to sadly) and that's fully RNG. This is more annoying than hard to do, because if we really need to we ca probably just leave the game going while grabbing food, taking a break&stuff. It totally sounds doable in less than 30 hours. At least it should go faster than Xenoblade Chronicles 100%, which is like 50-60hours

This trick is pretty hard to get. Watching videos can probably help. Wilzo did a pretty nice vid on it:

If you don't get the trick to use item on minish spot, you basically need to move diagonlly on the spot, use the item, and then just right (the order mght not be right, it's been a while I didn't do it ^^"). Once you have it, pause buffer until you see the bomb blue getting bigger (you'll see the framer better on the video). Then, go up and hopfully you should clip

Yet being an amazing game with a powerful soundtrack, a gameplay with a lot of action and tension as well as a great background, it is the least known of those three games. I feel like it deserves to be more known and that's kinda why I'm submitting it. It's a really fast paced dungeon crawler which abuses motion control with as much boss fights as dungeoning (there aren't any overworld, just the 11 towers). No glitches besides on one boss which makes it faster but pretty hard to get.

C ending is what you would go for normally since it does all the dungeons and you actually fight the final boss yet in a weaker form than the other endings, while D ending ends at the 9th tower, after what we kill our beloved Elena which makes the game ~20 minutes faster. There is a possibility to continue afterward and get C ending so getting D ending and watching the CS could be an incentive if you don't feel like doing the bidwar for the endings.

It's a turn by turn strategy game which is known to rely heavily on RNG with all the level ups, hitrate and critrate, as well as being really punishing: if an unit dies, it dies for real, and the only way to get him back is to restart the whole chapter. However we found out how to manipulate RNG in RTA so that we actually know everything that is going to happen and never rely on RNG: basically the run is just relying on how fast we can menu and do our movement as long as we don't screw up the route, in which case we reset the chapter, which could be a rare occurence. Manipulating RNG in a Fire Emblem game allow to do really crazy strat that we wouldn't even dare to try otherwise too. There are also multiple occurences of glitches thanks to which we can control the enemy allowing for even cooler strats ad saving a bunch of time.

About the incentive on chapter 10 Lucius dies if we use our current strat; however there is a way to prevent it. Doesn't take too long to make it but it obviously loses time to save him over killing him.

The biggest issue about Symphonia really is that there are a lot of cutscenes and not that much fighting for runs. However the fighting experiece (especially in NG) is thrilling. Really intense, technical and therefore requires to practice a lot. And I mean it. It takes forever to get good in this game, consiedring you both need technique and learning from boss patterns. And it gets even more intense considering most of the time if you die your run is completly dead, since you game over, no question.

So basically tht should guide your line whether you like it or not. Long because of CS, intense because of fighting, and also frustrating because if you die the run is straight up dead.

If you wanna get in Symphonia anyway, either in NG or NG+, it will require a really big dedication to the game, os get ready for it if you ever pick it up.

In the attempt to make this forum more useful than what it s currently (which shouldn't be easy, really), I'm going to open this thread, as part of many others to discuss the route (currently for what are on the leaderboards).

But since some details/strat finding are probably more easy to discuss somewhere else, I'm also going to create other threads, one for each towers, opening with a video of an IL as of early September I did to show the route and discuss my choices ad then open debates for optimisation.

For now the probably most up-to-date route is my C ending PB right there: http://www.speedrun.com/run/6yj1r83y (probably don't pay attentio to the execution it's terrible). So for now if anyone has any ideas to improbe the route used here feel free to do so!

I have found out you can skip freeing a platform in Ironclad turret (the very last one in the final ascension.) I did a serie of ILs to test strats and optimize everything on my channel. Once I'll be done I'll start moving everything here hopefully :)

As I said, it's a really really new speedgame, and nothing really fantastic has been found. I'm currently trying to find optimizations but that's really all.

I probably should start to do a thread for each tower or something.

Anyway the runs rushes tower for now, taking some books on the way to gather money to get Umbrariu and Mobilium to skip some fights or go faster respectively. We have pretty much found a good movement/item route, but still need optimizations ;)

My current route for C ending end around lvl 18 if you wonder ;)

Welcome everyone on the Pandora's Tower speedrun forum!

If you just found this game by accident let me introduce it: Pandora's Tower is a Wii game that came out in 2012 in Europe/Japan, 2013 in USA, and is part of the Operation Rainfall game, with Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story.

Even if it's part of the same "serie", it's not, in contrast with the 2 other games, a J-RPG focused game. This game is more of a dungeon crawler where you have to finish 12 towers in which a boss is at the very end, called masters. The whole game is based on those dungeons since there is no overworld maps. There is also a home where the hero, Aeron can talk with Elena, the heroin and main reason why we are here, and increase his relationship with her, which will be what will change the end of the game. You can also talk to Mavda, a Vestran mysterious woman, and trade, buy, sell and create stuff.

The fighting gameplay is in really two parts, the main weapon (starting with your sword), which allow to fight at close range and the Oraklos Chain, which can be used in really various ways: grapple lever, items, open doors, yank ennemies to deal damage, stop them from moving... and so on. It's really the main feature of the game and uses motion control and the main reason why it's a really cool game to play!

Anyway, I think I'm done with this really brief presentation. There are a lot of stuff I didn't present, but this isn't the main focus of this thread, and this forum. This forum is going to be the place where we are going to discuss strats, routes and everything speedrun related to his game. Besides the two runs done on the 11th by me and chopperman nothing has been done on this speedgame and it's the occasion for all of us to vcreate a new speedgame from scratch! i'm really looking for it, and hope we will be to create something amazing !

Hey!

Sorry for not responding before (the speedrun scene was in vacation for a bit, I would say ^^)

THe point of HP min is since you have 10x XP you are overlevelled really really fast. And since you need to die on some fights (Kratos 1,2, Yggy 1 are the first example that comes to my mind), you don't want this to take forever. Even if you can kill Kratos 1 it's faster to die usually so that's the idea of HP min. And anyway you are going to over DPS everything so no problem for HP on other fights.

Combo expert is a new thing introduced in the latest new strats for Sylvarant. We used to have Berserker because based best strength growth but combo expert gives more TP, which allow to use Demonic Tiger Blade during early game fight, basically more techniques. It's not the fastest way to do it, fastest being Meteor Storm first try with Genis' randomizer but it's RNG and we chose consistency over fast which usually didn't work anyway because RNGenis.

Hello!

I'm from the french restream, not a runner at all, but I'm in charge of the french restream's schedule... I just noticed that every buffers got 30 more minutes, making it last pretty much an hour, instead of the usual 35... Is it normal or not?

The PS3 version has one less skip (Sylvarant Base skip) which saves a minute, you can't infinite in PS3 version for NG, which makes Sylavarant SUPER slow, you have more cutscenes (that one I'm not really sure, but doesn't really matter for the other points), you can't use Proxy Summon Glitch which helps A LOT in NG and is used in NG+ too.

Oh. Also the movement is slower on PS3. I think that's enough poits to say that: PS3 version is one of the worst version to speedrun this game (still faster than PAL GC though I think).

If you want to see PS3 NG runs however, you should visit the japanese stuff. They tend to do that for some reason.
