Do you want a name change instead? It would transfer over your other runs/moderated games. Post here with the other account if you want the other account deleted and this account's name changed. Otherwise post again with this account and I'll just delete it.
This thread is for moderation requests for existing games. We add games through the game request form when people want to add information to track. We don't take requests on which games to track (if that makes sense).
StarvinStruthers: I'll add you because you're the only person with a time. Mr_Snawk: Message Skullbot on Twitch and ask. It looks like he is from France also.
Thot: 1 week ago isn't terribly inactive. Runs can take a bit to get verified. Try messaging them on Twitch, they may be more than willing to add you or add your run upon request.
Retract: I'll reattach it to the series for now, which gives it more moderators. You can talk to them if you'd like. It's a board with a lot of data and you just recently joined the site, so I'm a bit hesitant.
Either that run is cheated or misrepresented or it's actually possible to do a glitch. If the only run is actually cheated or misrepresented I'm fine with removing the game for now. I can't really tell just at a glance.
More generally I tend to prefer that most notable console releases exist on the site. (Others disagree on this to some extent.)
I'd rather take the stance of "X game is not notable AND doesn't lend itself to speedrunning AND clutters the game list for no good reason" than "This game isn't a REAL speedrun"
I don't see any harm in notable console releases (albeit with bad speedruns) continuing to exist. If we add score tracking to the site at some point, we could track however many points Desert Bus for Hope has gotten in one sitting or something.
A good example is Color a Dinosaur. Awful and not notable speedrun, definitely a NES game, I'd vote for tracking it personally.
I think there is a lot of desire to allow more configuration of the front page, but I'd rather not go around deleting everything that's -not a TRUE speedgame- due to having suboptimal handling methods for the front page.
If he PMs me on Twitch from the Twitch account linked to his speedrun.com account, or posts in this thread confirming he wants a name change I'll handle it. I don't want to message him explaining how a user is saying he wants his name changed, it's just confusing.
I think it would all switchover appropriately, but I'll double check with Lighnat0r before doing it.
EDIT: Changed his name upon PM Request
I'm pretty sure that's how it makes the most sense in the current design. The top navigation bar should be global links right now. Having a way to go up one layer would be good, but I think it needs implemented differently in the user interface to make sense.
Also PackSciences issue was fixed, but not replied to because it was posted in two places.
I'm not sure what's up with mugg's issue. Perhaps this is related to a recent firefox update, unless something was changed within the site.
Since you asked so formally and I regret knowing you...
Mr_Snawk: Gyoo had to translate. I'll add you because MGS series is way behind on verifying runs.
LPGanon: Runs were rejected for that game like 3 days ago, and one of the mods is also a full mod (though it's maybe harder for him to see submissions due to staff not having an separated "moderated games" queue, though maybe notifications help that? Not sure.) In either case, you can discuss it with AMVX.
TheRuseman: Comments really should not be used to criticize moderation (or users in general I guess), no one would want to moderate a board where an insult about them is required to be present. Using the forums for discussion is a more appropriate channel. The rest of the argument is valid, I'll PM him on Twitch. It seems like he just "removed series moderators", which is slightly different from removing game moderators, but still. (Side note: Site moderator logs would be great, but alas)
Thextera: I'm pretty sure you were added for Rayman 1 before I looked at it, so maybe you asked the other game mods or one of the site staff did it.
Per the first post in the thread:
Please keep in mind that using this thread is somewhat a last resort, in case the current moderators are not responding or refusing your help without justification. You should always start by asking the Super mods of a game/series as they are also able to add mods. Twitch messages to mods are probably best for now.
This guideline is there so that current moderators are generally aware of who is looking to be added to the game. It's not perfect obviously.
I made the non-super mod a super mod for Klonoa, so now you have three (well, more like 2) people you can talk to.
This should've been sorted out before adding the games, but that's not your fault. I think I had asked the other game mods about this at one point and I don't think I got a response, therefore I apparently forgot about it, sorry.
I'll run it by the other admins/staff. I don't have much preference either way, and I think there's precedent in both directions. The data should be merged one way or the other though, it's silly that two exist.
StarvinStruthers: Made Deln and Deuceler super mods marvjungs: The game has plenty of relatively active moderators. Runs won't always go up in a week. MLSTRM: You guys are probably fine, don't worry about it. I would recommend promoting a few more people to supers though. (if not everyone) Then people don't have to come bother us when the one super mod disappears :P
Did we address everything?
Flapx100: Since Emericus liked the post I went ahead and added you as a series moderator, but he does have the ability to do that for that series.
CrystalChaos: Let me know if everyone agrees on things, it should probably be moved one way or the other in any case.
Deleted Nerf (logged on once 2 months ago, no real user data), Changed Nerfripp2 to Nerf
I don't know enough about these games to make a good suggestion.
People with runs should talk and try to reach a consensus on what would ideally be done for now.
If anything the data should be merged instead of deleted (assuming both boards have decent data.) Whether it's merged or kept separate, I don't have an opinion one way of the other without reading more. One thing is, if someone wanted to run "all games", that sounds like it's different for all 4 games, which could be an argument for keeping them separate.
Person handling the game request queue should most probably notice it. Don't worry about it.
Are any of those current games duplicates? Also are you fine with combining all the series moderators? Which series name should persist? (Ideally the site would support multiple names in the future, but obviously not currently.)
